4runner RCI Aluminum Skids - $200

Came off a 2014 non KDSS 4Runner. Engine and transmission aluminum black powder coated skid plates. NO HARDWARE. $200. You'll need to source your own hardware for install. New skids. These sucked. I put Budbuilt steel on a few months ago, just finally got around to posting these.

Yep.. BB is the only way to go.

My Budbuilts are still running strong. Many dents. I should have reinforced them while I still had the mfg company with press brake and press operators with 30+ year of experience. They once made them all straight and sure as shit, I tweaked them again. All good though.

I had BB on my last FJ they were stout but the RCI steel on the one I have now are differently built better.

It just little details like how RCI has welded rings around the bolt holes and that they used a clip style nutsert on the hatch and send extras. That being said I still drop the skid to do an oil change rather than use the hatch. But now that Im looking at them again i do hate that they only offer black powdercoat on the steel. I got an early set before they changed up their design, logo and still offered bare steel.

I had minor alignment issues with bolt holes on my BB. One of the brackets was bent, not sure how or if it was shipped that way or happened in transit. I hated the sunken bolt holes on the BB. They could be a pain in the ass. The low vent holes on the BB collected mud like crazy.
