Yeah yeahYeah, no nerves. Only nerve that was hit is when we had to stop over and over again to wait for the truck to cool down. Lots of good advice on this site!

So last weekend I pull my clutch fan and added an electric cooling fan, works great and I noticed alittle more horse power and slight improvement in gas millage to. The main reason was to turn off the fan when wheeling in deep water/mud to stop spraying everything under the hood.

Wow I think I hit a nerve.
I did do some research and also left my shroud on to help direct air flow, so far its good. As for the water crossing, i just was looking for a way to stop the fan so the mud dosnt fly all over.
How far down you going my man? Ive had my truck under deep water more times than I can count and never had any fan issues. Also lost count of the times Ive had water in the cab after multiple times in a single day on the trails. Think I'm up to 4 times I had to remove the interior.
I used to worry about it, but when you go that deep there are far more things to be concerned with than breaking some fan blades off. I'd bet a new fan and blades in a spare parts "oh shit" box would be easier/more reliable than going electric.
Seal the cab, doors, and wiring if you plan on subbing. All our wire harnesses have connections on the floor boards and water comes up from under the cab through all the unsealed holes so I'd focus on waterproofing and adding dielectric grease to everything before worrying about the fan. Also extend all the breathers if you haven't already. I may have pics in my build....who knows.
Im not looking to sub my truck but if I do go into some deep water (maybe over my 35" tires) but not crazy. I will go through the connectors and hit them with dielectric grease, good advice

3' deep water is crazy to me![]()
Never even been close to that and my trucks been close to buoyant or maybe it was the river's pressure making ti feel like ti was getting ready to float downriver.
You need some scuba gear![]()
