Hilux/Canada importation USA.

Ok I tried to get as much info as i could into the title. Im thinking i may want to try and import a hi lux in diesel from Canada. I want a diesel pickup i like the torq fuel economy and the solid from axle honestly what is there not to like. Whats the most desirable model to get from them.

Can i get parts for this vehicle without going threw hell, here in the good old US of A.

How hard is it to import I looked online and saw some hilux models from Canada on craigslist etc. Ive read about it several times being done.

Any recomendations would be great from any of you. Does anyone know what kind of toyota model trucks and offroading vehicles that are up there new and used. IF i can do this ill make the drive and purchase one. I wonder if there is anyone over there that could help me out with this.

They aren't. Hell Mexico has em too. I see them around san marcus a few times. I know nothing about importing it other than you will be paying a lot in import fees.

New Hilux is ugly as fuck IMO. Love the motor and solid axle... but damn its ugly.

I dont care what the hi lux looks like. I looked into importation a little it looks like its going to cost will less the 500 bucks. ALOT less then doing a conversion. Im hopeing someone knows how this works and I can get one from mexico or canada. The caveat is it has to be older then ten years old.
