One other thing.. the box. I bought a box off the web from Sound Off Audio... it was SHIT!! Complete crap.. but it fit perfectly. They just used cheap MDF, no real glue that I could see and no screws, only small brads. Anyhow, it sounded like shit. I pulled it out.. made some modifications to the center section for my amps, removed their shitty speaker terminals and then liquid nailed the shit out of it on the inside. Then I predrilled holes and used wood screws on all the seams.. finally I fiberglassed the shit out of it. Multiple layers of fiberglass and cloth.. inside and out. Sanded it all down, painted it and then put some vinyl over it. Thing is as hard as chunk of granite.. and NO rattles. It seriously helped out in the sub department.

The box can either make or break it in my opinion. After blowing my original RF punch sub, I bought a kicker to replace it and put it in the original box. Sounds like absolute shit. After a few deep moments, I realized it was the airspace that was screwing it. I then built my own, using 3/4"MDF and liquid nail. It's solid tight! I made that little 8" kicker sound like a 12" at times. I later on traded that kicker for a bigger Kenwood. I'm very pleased with the results and the current Kenwood gives me the perfect amount of bass. It's smooth and doesn't overpower the music. SO in the short, the box is key for the sub. :)

I hear you on that. I need to find a box (build or buy or both) with about .9 ft3 total for the subs that I have

Building mine turned out to be cheaper than anything else. I think I spent a total of $40 total on it? For wood, liquid nail, some misc wiring components and some steel brackets to make the mounts. I already had a terminal cup....I think mine's got a total of 1.1 or 1.2 cubic feet or air space.

I've now got a 10" Kenwood in there and I painted it in bed liner, but mine looks like this:

Only pic I could find of the test fit.

Looks good Conner. I think would be even more appealing in some interior matching carpet.

I honestly am going to probably do that as soon as I find the time, along with replacing some of the other interior linings....the bed liner has worn pretty badly on it. It was just the duplicolour spray on shit from auto zone that I used. Never again will I!
