Odd weather to run into a snow storm this late in the year in Colorado. Hope he is learning quickly.

I came across this thread on another forum and thought it was a good read.
Pretty much a guy is taking his new 4 Runner on the Trans American Trail from South Carolina to Oregon and documenting it along the way in the link below. There is also a Youtube video on page 8 or 9.

It's a good read but I feel like the guy is a little under-prepared for this trip. Otherwise I'm jealous and wish I had time to do this trip.

I agree with you but it also goes to show that you don't need a lot of vehicle modifications or expensive gear to do a trip like this.
An air pump, tire kit and gauge should have been first on his list of things to pack.

Well he hasn't really done anything challenging yet. Just drove through a stream and some mud holes. But the tire kit, tire gauge and air pump was what I was referring to. A basic set of tools is definitely needed.
