I have two RA housings - I'm waiting for a full float kit from them. I am a couple of days away from saying 'f' it and just use chromo TG axles.

I'll buy your chromo axles when the FF kit comes in. :)

Well another 2.5 hours of traffic and 4.5 hours of cutting, grinding and welding.

Sorry no pictures but the original bed is now completely off. Link perches welded on, steering box mount half welded on. Bed off.

Still no real word from Front Range on the elusive free floating kit... The full float may be put on hold here if it is not here by next week.

Found someone that built an 82 very similar to mine. Hope to wheel with him in the next few weeks to see his bitch roll!

I may end up with the AP bed kit for a quick solution for the bed. Or... build a custom deal.

I don't care what the AP bed looks like. We all know their stuff doesn't "LOOK" bad.. it just performs bad. I would copy it, same way I would copy the 2nd Gen plate bumper and build it out of 3/16th' and 1/4" steel. Its not the looks that bothers me.

Noooooooooo......

I really like the look if the AP flatbed but for its cost you could DIY one just like it for much less if you've got access to a Bender/notcher

I'd like to say I was kidding but I guess I was just jumping the gun. I hear you guys and agree. After cycling the rear, it looks like I'll need to cut the frame to get the most from the Pig...

Here's the build thread of one of the 'copy me' finalists....

Ground down all the 30 year-old Toyota sloppiness and all the other little imperfections and painted it with that sweet elixir they call "Rustolium Self-Etching Primer!" Man that stuff is the closest thing to epoxy when it comes to sticking!!! I am VERY tempted to enlist the Pig to the military look!

Thats the color I want the Raisin.

So are those tail lights we see that are masked off with a nice piece of square tube protection over them out back there?

Curious, can you buy it by the gallon and apply it with an HPLV gun? Might be substantially cheaper for those who have a lot of shit to paint.

So its $30 vs $50.. then yoy have to buy a HPLV gun and have a compressor. lol I had 10's of dollars wrapped up in Clyde's paint job. Krylon Ultra Flat Khaki FTW. :D But I do REALLY like the Rustoleum self etching primer.. it will be the color of the Raisin some day.
