2016 Moab & Colorado Pic thread
After we finished Engineer Pass, we did a small trail that had a bunch of mines on it. It was an easy trail with great views and a few abandoned mines. Jason can chime in with the name of it, because I forgot it

Then we went and did some easy trails exploring the part of Colorado that we hadn't been too before and hadn't seen any members here go before. We started the Chubb trail and finished at the end of the trail which was called Black Man's trail or something like that.
Jason made it through this sloppy mess and rutted it out for me to get stuck and I was SERIOUSLY stuck in this mud. It actually dried on the inside of my rims and I had to chip it all out by hand since the added weight made the tires unbalanced when I drove down the road!

That night, we tried to make it up Grizzly Pass to campout by a lake at the top of the trail. This was the only way in and it was just too damn wet for me to make it up. Jason made it up by using his winch and multiple winch points. Mine however wasn't working. 
I have a lot of footage of me truing to get up. We stacked rocks for close to an hour but it was so damn SLICK that the rocks would just spin out easily. There was ZERO traction there that day. After a couple of hours, we abandoned it and went to find a campsite somewhere else. This was the only trail we didn't finish since there isn't a bypass that exists for this trail. Notice the flowing river in the back that ensures that your tires will be constantly wet.

Was Jason using his front mount camera to see over the ledges? IIRC he had that.
Yes he was! And once my new headunit get in, I'll have that as well.
So the loooonnnggg drive home to the Texas Heat . We left Chinaman Gulch and drove for ~6 hours to Clayton Lake State Park to camp for the night. This way it would split up our 16 hour drive. You can hike a 1/4 mile to see some cool dinosaur tracks.

And now for final drive home. Jason and I split up in Amarillo, Texas since it would be an additional 2 hours on my way home to go through San Antonio.
This was close to Texline city. It was completely empty on July 4th, and kinda creepy as well since the town seemed abandoned.

Yeah that's what it might, didn't think of that. Anytime I see metal on a beam I think "structural tie-down support"
There was other re-purposed metal objects on the outside as well holding beams and columns in place which made me think that's what this Tin cans lid purpose was for.
