Drained and refilled my brake fluid. Installed my new Crown brake lines this weekend. The difference in quality between the two brake lines is unreal.
Link to the Crown brake lines I bought. For 3" lifted Tacoma's you'll need the 4" lines.
Toyota Tacoma 4WD 2005-2014 3"-4" Lift, Pre Runner All 6 Lugs - Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit

Pro-tip, when changing out the rear brake lines, cut your 10mm flare wrench in half so you'll have the room to turn the wrench.

I will have to check my tools, I think I have a crows foot set for flare/gay nuts. I don't see why they would not work. ?

I gonna wait on replacing mine(calipers and lines) until you have your big brake kit installed.

I'd offer a wrench meet at my casa if ya have interest, I'll have to check my calendar when I get home later

Yeah those crows feet should work if you have a small enough extension. The issue is the length of the tool. It's a $6 tool from Vatozone, so I'll go buy another to have a full size wrench again. I'd be down for a mod day if you were closer, but driving 4 hours to do brakes is a deal breaker when I install everything in that time at my house. Just wish you and that car lift were closer.

Installed my new secondary battery last night. It's the same make and model I had in there before. I was having weird voltage drops for awhile now, the battery would be 6V one morning, 10V the next morning and 7V the morning after. It was never a consistent drop in voltage like you'd have with a parasitic drain. Well it turns out that one of the mounting bolts I'd added for extra piece of mind had backed out far enough to rub the case of the battery which caused it to leak a bit. So I cleaned it out as best I could and installed the new battery.

This is what it looked like before I cleaned it out.

I also installed a new cabin air filter, my one from 7 months ago was filthy already. I'm going to try to wash it out and see if I can reuse it again.

I also took out my K&N air filter and put in a Toyota OEM air filter. I keep reading that the K&N's are only good for street use and not heavy offroad use. I also read that the K&N's can cause the truck to run rich in fuel because the programming Toyota has on the 1GR-FE is really sensitive. So I figured I'd give it a try and experiment. Gotta add a little spice to life :)

Just based on the shear amount of crap my K&N would let through thats a very good move IMO. My mass air meter would always need cleaning with my K&N ~ OE style WIX not nearly as much. More flow always = more crap through unless you increase the surface area of the filter media.

Yeah back when I bought the K&N filter, it was the go-to filter no questions asked.

I used to run them in everything I owned. Street bikes, dirt bikes, all my cars, etc.

Now after my engine blew I run WIX in everything. Figure if WIX helps protect $50k diesel engines working in mines - it should be sufficient for my uses. Never seen a K&N on any heavy machinery thats very old - probably for good reason.

I have ran a K&N filter in a few of my older vehicles but stopped when I went to fuel injected vehicles. They do tend to make a mess and add unnecessary maintenance with no noticable performance increase.

We used them on 35m attack helicopters...
They require regular maintenance, period.

Yeah I wasn't after any performance gains by using it. I liked the wash-ability of them. You get 4-5 washes out a K&N recharge kit which is $20. But I've been reading more and more that they are terrible for offroad dusty use.

That's why I had them, but even that is bogus once you think about it. You wash it - then can't drive until the darn thing is dry. Having only one vehicle for the majority of my life waiting hrs for something to dry sucks especially if something comes up.

Now I just keep a unused WIX in my tool box. If it gets wet or full of dust it takes me a minute to swap it out. Not like it matters with a dead engine lol

Finally got around to ordering a wiring harness for my new Kenwood radio. After disconnecting the main battery, my old stereo is stuck in the display mode when I drive so it needs to go now lol
