Ordered a new lower oil pan. I'll pick it up tomorrow from Toyota and install it Friday. I don't feel like a dumbass piece of shit anymore for stripping it out. The oil pan is just thin sheet metal with a tiny threaded section so it's definitely not a hard thing to do. I'm not alone in doing it at all. The more I researched this, the more people I found that have done the same thing.

Got my gas door welded back up. Fuck the cost of replacing it and having to get a new door painted to color match the truck since they come in unpainted black.

You can see the crack on top. Apparently you're supposed to grease these hinges every oil change so this isn't Toyotas fault for using shitty pot metal to make our trucks. It's my fault for not knowing that .

Closed up the gap. This is before I ground it down.

Tacked up. I ground it down a hair to make it easier to paint. But I left the tacks thick to keep extra weld there to hopefully prevent cracking in the future.

A lot of guys use white lithium grease.

Got my shocks taken off, packaged up and shipped out to Downsouth Motorsports to get rebuilt and actually valved correctly.

@PSU Taco85 you might want to take off your shock covers. This is what mine look like. Guess I won't be running them anymore.

Also put on my old Donahue coilovers and blown out Fox resi shocks on the rear. I really need to sell these

Check their website for cost. Ain't gonna be cheap for me because I have all CDC valved shocks. I wasn't comfortable sending mine to a builder close by because of all the extra complexity of the CDC valves. If I had standard icons then I would've sold them already let's be honest here

I wanna say it's $150 per regular shock and $220 for CDC or multi-valved shocks. So I have 6 shocks...FML

ignorance is bliss. Mine have been on for almost 8 years. At this point I’ll probably just throw them out and buy new one’s

Yeah their assessment of the secondary shocks will determine if I keep them or sell them. It was cool while it lasted but my stepdad has passed on and that stepdad/stepson project (that didn't happen in time) nostalgia has passed. It's honestly more of a pain having the secondary shock than a benefit at this point.

Ive been clear coating some of the stuff I get that I want to last longer w/o corroding. That said I'd bet if DSMS is cleaning and re-coating them it will prob be better than stock....hopefully. It's hit or miss with some of the CA companies. Like how Total Chaos used chrome uniballs because they are much harder then stainless steel - only to find out 20% of their customer base is not in a desert and would only get 3-4 months out of them before they pitted to crap in the salt belt.

Ive seen so many Fox brand shocks rust out in a few weeks I never even put mine on until I striped off the factory finish and redid it myself. Hopefully their chrome on the shafts is better - I'm afraid to look at mine

Got the new oil pan installed. I'm going to wait 12 hours/next day for the sealer to cure before putting oil in the truck.

Got the fumoto valve installed. One issue is the threads stick up to far to allow the junk to drain out. But oh well, gonna try it out for awhile.

But it seems to be very well made. Hecho en Japan!

Hopefully this little tab sticks around. Think I'm gonna tape it on.

The amount of rust and old gasket sealer I got off the bolts.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen a fumoto valve from the inside of the drain pan! very cool to see.

The good news is you can run a 4.slow with 1# of shavings for up to a year and the intake is filtered so most chips won't recirculate unless they are real small and in that case I'd bet they drain out with normal oil changes because they are so light in weight.
