Avet SX

I ordered a new reel, the Avet SX 5.3. This is a pretty cool reel, all aluminum and heavy duty yet pretty small. Will hold 700+ yds of 30# braid, or 420 yds of 50# braid (rated max is 50# braid). I have never had a level drag before, I am pretty excited about it.. The free spool works very well, a little too well. You can add some Magnets to the case to prevent backlash. I have read about guys casting 500+ feet with this reel.

Very nice. I would like to get a good set up for the coast. What rod are you putting it on?
Also do you mind letting me know what that set you back?

I have one of those! I got the gold one on a nice rod for around 250$ or so they are really nice and I can cast is 100yrds easy with 2oz or so of weight. You'll be happy with it I'm sure

to tell you the truth I have no clue. I took all my gear down to south padre I think its just the basic model. I just put 30 pound mono on it

I just found the box for it I packed it with my fishing stuff Its the MX. Its the Smaller one that they make. I'm looking at getting a few of the 30w ones that they have for my offshore boat.
