Backpacking - a different kind of 'offroading'

Just came back from a great backpacking trip with DysfunctionalRetard

This was the largest mountain lion track I have EVER seen! We saw this cat's tracks for more than 5 miles (on and off). Deer tracks one way - cat tracks the other!!!

I am sure with the heat of today the kitty is chewing on some deer jerky!!!

This part of CA you can only carry paper weights!!! WTF!!! I did have my knife in my hand and looked at every ledge before proceeding!!! I was rehearsing in my head of jabbing that effer's jugular!!!

Very cool. I would love to see a mt lion in the wild... Through the sights of a gun or bow but just seeing one would be awesome.

Before I was cat aware, I used to trail run on a trail that had a ledge. I also would run x-country (off trail) in the same area, and would run in to a deer carcass and thought it was cool. Then I guy got killed an chick attacked at that same ledge!!! What the hell was I thinking - I could have been a goner had that kitty come back for some jerky!!!

These guys are not to be effed with!!! That looks like a 200 pound cat!!! What? 6" wide paws!!!! WTF!!!

No but having it in a bag is useless for mountain lion!!! They will ambush you without you knowing ANYTHING!

I was telling the guy about a couple of the survival courses I took. He asked what are you supposed to do if you see a mountain lion? Look big? I said no, you push your buddy towards the mountain lion! It's a survival course not a friend keeper course!!!

Around here, the experienced outdoorsmen worry more about the mountain lion than the black bear.
