Just topped off the gas tank outside of Abilene; running a little slower than wanted due to getting away late a d wet roads.

Well I know from exp there is no cell signal out there. My AT&T automatically signed onto some MexCell or something so I turned it off. At the ranger staton they have a small.. I mean like 100 meter range cell signal. That's it.

Couple pics from the last few days. Think the first 48 hours was interesting living in the back of the 4Runner. We have now relocated to a site much closer to the Ranger station - ease of travel and facilities makes life much nicer and saves gas.

Now that the weather is done trying to turn me into a Jenner it is a real nice trip. We are headed to explore the east side of the park today.

You cant take enough extra gas to BBRSP.. you will be plenty happy with 25 gallons. Wish I had that much when I went. Would have allowed for much more exploration.

Had a good day so far today; we went and drove all around the east side of the park. Pics when I get back. Gas - we are going through ~5 gallons a day. I am really glad I brought as much as I did.

Good call on the gas. Have you met up with anyone else out there?

We have come a cross a few different groups so far. One group had the cabin on the east rim of Solidero, the other was a family hiking from a trail head. Other than that most people have not stopped - but there have only been a couple other vehicles. We are seeing a lot of Toyotas out here.

Top of my list when I get home and recovered is to find a good way to transfer fuel from a can to the tank. These "epa friendly" nozzles suck.
