Indeed. For a trip like this I'll probably bust out the long guns.

I'm good out to 600 yrds with the .204, that should keep them back far enough....lol

Nice. My dad bought some raffle tickets for a Ruger 204 last night but didn't end up winning. He wants the Kimber Pro Varmint 204

Thats awessome Sean. What are you up to man? Workin on clyde anytime soon?

This weekend I'll be wrenching a little. I've got a few things to do to the Taco as well, installing 2500 watt inverter this week and swapping out some switches in the dash. But for Clyde I need to pull the 3rd member and get that hole fixed.

I've actually welded up the mounting bracket for the inverter and I just need to install it. I have to run some wires from the cab to the bed and I'm not looking forward to that.

Getting ready for the microwave? :) Did you punch a hole in the diff housing?

LOL.. along with AC and a satellite dish. :)

I burned a hole in the center of the diff while welding on the diff armor! DOH! Then my buddy (who was helping out) burned a hole somewhere along the sides while finishing it up for me. (I was building the seat mounts and he volunteered to finish up the diff armor). SO.. now I don't know where the hole is, so my plan is to pull the 3rd and weld it from the inside. Since its just a fluid vessel and not really pressurized I'm pretty sure I can make it hold... just don't know where the hole(s) is(are). I was planning to hold off pulling the 3rd out until I buy a locker for it, but I think now that I'll just do it. I have a Marlin Crawler rebuild kit for the rear end that includes bearings and seals, I'll do that when I get the locker. Until then I'll just rock the LSD out back.

Wow! That sucks!

On that same point, I thought I had ordered his diff armor - apparently I must have effed up, cause it never came! :) I do need that diff plug - just had a nasty puddle when I got back from baja! My finger could still touch diff fluid :) but I could turn the drain plug with my fingers!!!

The center steel in the diff is very thin... the outer steel is thicker. I hadn't turned down the amperage when I was welding around the fill hole and I blew a hole in it. :(

Check the bolts that hold your 3rd member in. I've had leakage from mine quite a bit. Usually I'll find one or two that are just a little bit loose and that fixes it.
