Frack me..
Ok, it's needs to be started. Who all is interested in an Expo trip to Big Bend, and maybe Big Bend Ranch too?

We can camp in our vehicles, the backside of Big Bend is open to off-roaders totally. We can cut around the back (south side) off road, check out the Rio Grand.. make it to lajitas then up into Big Bend ranch up into the mountains. Camping along the way..

interested parties?

Maybe a test expo location would be San Angelo?

I'm down but, when is the best time weatherwise to go and what all needs to be brought along besides extra gas cans, food, tent?

Bianca, can you post a list of Preferred gear to take.. I know you already have one laying around. Best times of year are NOT THE SUMMER

The Days during Christmas were actually very nice, but the nights can get into the negative temperatures. Actually.. that would probably work out, Christmas break.. leading up until New years.. I like, do you? Just get a GOOD sleeping bag to deal with the cold. Mornings will suck until the fire ball is in the sky. No Fires, so that will suck too. Not sure if they allow Charcoal fires though.. they might.

Just talk to the Ranger at Big Bend Ranch and he said end of September, all October and November are the best times so do we want to do it this year or next.

Feb works better for me.

Did the ranger mention why the first months of the year where bad?

Doing it 6 months out might get better attendance from non-Texans

Yes this sounds good to me gives time to save $ too, and talk Kindra into going, how long are we thinking of staying?...like a 4day weekend?

As many spare critical parts as you can get your hands on, CVs, pre assembled hub/unit bearings, spare third member (I'm gonna carry one from now on) tie rod ends. Bassically anything that is likely to break that would prevent your vehicle from driving.

Doing a 4 day weekend might make it easier for Christa to get off of work to come. I'd be down for a longer trip though if she decides not to come.

thats sounds even better take me a Vaca and be gone a whole week instead...hellz ya!!
