any strong 1" webbing will work. I personally carry 15' of 1" webbing per side. Used to carry 10' per side but came up short a few times (either large old trees or trees far apart). For hammock suspension I'm using Amsteel "whoopie slings" I made up. You can make your own and here is a good resource for it http://www.whoopieslings.com/. I buy the Titanium from Dutch and then make most of my stuff up myself to save a few bucks.

Pans when I ultralight it, I find a comfortable crevice and pack it with leaves. :)

Had a large pack of Coyotes surround us this weekend. Sounded like at least 10-15 of them that were not happy we were in their home. At least they wait until dark so I can't see them 20 yards away in the woods.

I have been surround by them in Joshua tree while camping in back county with no tent. Startling. They sang their cultural hymns for a while and took off. You do know how many people have died from wolf attacks?

Liam Neesen died from a wolf attack. I saw a movie about it. They killed a bunch of guys actually. Oh... That was in Canada. American wolves are better behaved I suppose.

But didn't you know that the wolves were in fact Liam Neesen's issues with dealing with his dead wife and past life problems and that the wolves weren't real in the first place? That movie was so deep...sssoooo deep lol

I was hanging with my ass 4" off the ground so not that worried...especially when my camping buddy is 15 yards away and has his food bag hanging from his hammock straps. Figure if they were rabid they would eat him first.

Few if any people have died from wolf in US. Interesting article on Coyotes - Many killed by smuggler type.http://tchester.org/sgm/lists/coyote_attacks.html

Wolf & yote 2 totally different beasts and if we want to get real technical there is a new hybrid taking over called the coywolf. Species mated and this is their offspring. They have sighted them in NYC.

Never seen a wolf or coyote in NJ. Heard both many times. Only place I have seen a wolf in person was in Utah. A pack was walking on the salt lake ice. I got some good pics

Thought this was pretty slick. A little $ though.

If you were a toddler I would be concerned. Otherwise, no.

I trust one with my life and I too trust their coffee (although we might not if we saw them factory! lol). This is ALWAYS in our camp box:

I go back and forth between that and G7. Currently have both in my go bag of powdered drinks. Vinacafe is more earthy. G7 has more cream/sugar.

I picked up two different size Plano camping boxes today. The goal is to have all the camping gear in labeled and packed boxes so when we go camping it is much easier. All we will have to do is grab our personal clothes and load the boxes.

That's my plan with my pelican cases as well. I got a barely used Pelican 1620 for free from work the other day. :)

I need to post pics; but I picked up that cot today. It is going to be awesome for sleeping on.

This isn't GI issue. This is actually a nice cot and I am ordering the 4" thick mattress for it. When opened and setup it is right at the size of a full size bed.

Note to self.... don't tell 10 yo who has little woods experience that they will be surrounded by a pack of coyotes as soon as it gets dark. Poor little guy wouldn't leave my side all weekend. Good thing I skipped the scary storybook reading. On the other hand his 13yo brother was a trooper.

No phones or tech all weekend besides a little Pandora on the radio Sunday while packing up camp. Going to be sure and take them out much more often. Gotta get the momma's boy and city slicker out of them. They were amazed they had to wash their own dishes. Should of seen their eyes when I asked them what they were going to eat their food and drink their water out of Friday night when we got to camp. I expect next time they will be prepared with actual stuff they need (cup/spork/headlamp) instead of cheap dull knifes and crappy flint strikers + other junk people hock to the unknowing campers.
