Well guys........I'm sorry to have to say that this is going to have to be cancelled I just got word from my mom that my grandfather passed away last night and that the memorial service will be either Saturday or Sunday in California. I am just starting to work on travel plans now but I most definitely won't be able to host this meet. Many thanks to all of you who were willing to come lend me a hand, I hope that we can reschedule and try this again another time. I am sorry for throwing a wrench in every ones plans, I was really looking forward to this myself.

I was hoping to have some free time while in the neighborhood but it doesn't look likely at this point. Possibly Sunday but not sure. I really wish that I had just gotten in the truck and started driving, I hate airports and not having my own wheels. I will have a rental but also traveling with my wife, mother & sister so...

Have you read up any on the timing chain swap? I assume (and you know what they say about that) that you understand that it can be done with the head in place but that there is a risk of head gasket damage. It's definitely less work to leave the head in place and by the parts list I know that is the plan, just want to be sure (no more assuming) that you have considered the option of pulling the head. :o

I hadn't considered pulling the head. Hopefully it can be done with it in place.

If we do this at the end of next month I think Hawaiian Falls will still open and the wife's/kids can hit it up while we work.
