Wha? send me a pic of the ring gear no 3.9 ratio exists that I know of. That and that looks like a spring over axle? They told me it was out of a 2wd truck (should have been spring under)

Oh, it exists my friend. I knew I should have taken a pic.

It's spring under and it fit into the housing just fine. However, it's got the wrong pinion flange.

Well the true test would be to put it in, plant one side in a vise or something to prevent it from spinning, and then rotate the pinion and see how many times it takes to turn the outer hub one rotation. 3.73 times or 3.9.. its gonna be close, but noticeable.

I'm probably just gonna swap pinion flanges instead.

We can hit it tomorrow if you want.

I drove the 4Runner instead. Driving in Fwd with 3.73 gears and 33" tires didn't sound very appealing.

yea thats what i thought my plugs on those cords are alittle odd but you can pull on them all day and they wont come out of the wall

Thanks to everyone for all the help yesterday jacking with that axle. Had a good time, and now I can put the rear driveshaft back on the Tacoma.

Also, that was a pretty sweet field trip.

Oh, there'll be more fun next weekend. We did see some bad ass cars including an old Willys dragster with a huge ass blower installed.
