I finally found someone who has done a rear bumper similar to what I'm going to try. Twisty on YotaTech (and some other sites). This badass also did a V8 Swap.

Obviously, I won't need the tire carrier part, but I really like how close it stays to the bottom of the tailgate, and the way it wraps around the sides. Since I have no fenders, I'd bring mine all the way forward to the wheel well.

Frack me..
I have, but it doesn't look like they make one for 2nd Gens.

Should be the same as the 3rd Gen... ? I have one sitting in my Garage. Yes, I am going to use it.. but I looked for a long time, and came to the conclusion they have the most sweet rear bumper for the 2-3rd gens. oh.. and 4th. Subtract the swing out stuff for yours obviously..

So does this mean your gonna take that swing carrier off yours? (You know what I'm thinking)

Ooooh, I see what your saying, you DON'T want the tire swing part ON the new bumper...sorry, thought you were talking about getting a bumper with a swing out, my bad.

Nice work man!! Is it bolted in place or welded up there?

After mounting the spare underneath I started measuring my departure angle and discovered that the rear spare was severly limiting it.

Time for some modification...

TiregateRelocation1.jpg

Cut off the Center alignment thing and the lower bolt.
The top 2 bolts will now be the bottom bolts.

Had to cutout so the rim would still fit over the mount

I still need to clean up the cuts, and sort out a few other things, but it looks like it will work great to increase my departure angle.

Good idea. How does having the tire higher affect your rear visablity?
