Flatbed build

Well i finally got started on a flatbed I've been wanting to build for some time.
I wanted to build it for multiple uses, I primarily use the truck for hunting and wheeling so I decided to make it useful for both, somewhat the same as how I have built the rest of the truck. Not too extreme for use for one or the other.

here is the truck to start off with

I wanted the build the flatbed so I could swap between the stock bed and flatbed if I wanted. Basically no modifications where done to the frame as to where I couldn't go back to stock.
Used an engine hoist to remove/put on the beds.

Bought weather tight connectors so the electrical system could easily be plug and play.
Built a wiring harness for the LED lighhts I plan on installing.

started with the main fram and "roll bar"

Next came the lower panels, these are layed back about 30* in for clearance.

Cutting the holes for the lights

And a test fit on the truck

Nice, I might have an easier time on mine if I use square stock instead of tubing like I had planned.

Got more done this past weekend, need to get the pics loaded.
Plans include a recessed tool box and an auxillry fuel tank along with a ton of little things along the way.
i plan on painting it silver with the exception of the deck, thinking of spraying it with black bed liner.

Did u bend those top corners or notch and round them? Just curious to how you rounded that big ass rectangular tube.

cut through 3 sides with the plasma every 1/2" over a 5-1/2" span, then just bent it over, welded the outer sides up and capped the inner. I wish I would have given it a little more radius (more round), but it is what it is now.

That's what I was thinking after I got looking at how the other bends were done. Looks really good.

Where did you pick up you wiring plugs from?

Those are Duesch connectors, bought them from Summit. You can get them in multiple poles and are really easy to put together.

Thanks, I try to keep the camera far enough away that you can't see some of the crap welds. Ocassionally the fan would blow the sheild gas away and cause the weld to look like crap.
