Hello from Arkansas

Living in Northwest Arkansas right now. Finishing my last semester of undergrad before applying to grad school. From Oregon originally, Corvallis area.
Was directed here by a friend, @MatthewMay1 but I've been on TW and ih8mud for quite a while.
Don't have any pictures to load at the moment as I'm at work.
08 Tacoma DCLB with 132k miles and in need of some work up front apparently. Took it in to get an alignment done and they told me my LF wheel bearing is bad after being replaced 6 months ago. Gonna do some checks tonight to see if there's anything else at play, because 6 months ago it had a complete failure which did some moderate damage to the steering knuckle and possibly tie rods and axle.
Other than that it's in great shape.

Any gears or lockers? Overall it looks sharp and welcome to TOR.
No lockers. TRD sport with LSD. Wanting to do ARB front and rear lockers, but that's probably a ways off. Second child is due in July, so truck kinda gets put on the back burner. Little things here and there.
And I am a Razorback fan, seeing as I'm graduating from there, but my heart and soul belongs to Oregon State, not necessarily the school itself, but I'm very passionate about most of their sports, especially football, even when we suck.

Where in NW Arkansas? My 4R is from Bentonville. :D

I've got some family up there (Russellville area) and found it on Autotrader with ridiculously low miles (53k) and one owner, so they went and checked it out and I drove up from Houston the next day.

Welcome from NJ! Good luck on the front end. We have all been there at one point or another.

I'm in Fayetteville.

Thanks! Luckily it sounds like all I'm going to have to do is the wheel bearing. I've already got an assembled one ordered.

Well if this is your first wheel bearing to go out you have been lucky. I think I'm on number 5 (both sides combined).. I keep two spare assemblies in the garage. Congrats on the baby on the way.

Welcome Josh,

AR is great state, I always love the amount of streams and rivers to fish from, not to mention the amount of Federal land to play on.

Welcome to TOR and congrats to you and wife on that next child.

warning; With the name BeaverYota,
keep @thekidcatcher away from your truck and wife and you should be ok on here.

This is my second on the driver side after replacing it 6 months ago. I've heard they go through them fast, but man I hoped for longer than 6 months out of it!

Name used to be BeaverTaco... but for obvious reasons I changed that.
Thanks for the welcome and the congrats guys!
Nice to see a site where people seem to be able to BS and not have a million whiners come out because of it.

The BS is no worry; the amazingly ignorant questions whining because of a lack of thick skin does not cut it around here. This is someplace between Expedition Overland and Pirate4x4 in terms of how the users are treated. Pretty much the whole site is close to NSFW or any link that @Silverback posts. Other than that it is a great place.

I was lucky and only replaced them once in 94k/5-6 years and my truck was in the mud/sand/salt a good deal. I think a good deal is luck and a good deal is 100% proper installation and proper depth setting of the bearing into the hub. Most people I see have issues had their initial set them last 50-60k then their replacements don't last nearly as long - thus my conclusion.

If you don't torque them to 175 lbs/ft they will wear prematurely.

And replace that $6 inner seal

8 of them on SecretSquirrel...

Welcome, OP....

This is exactly why I shoot squirrels in back yard, they chew on the house, gutter, pipe jacks, electrical wires on my truck and apparently wheel bearings also.

Dang 8, now that sucks.
