Hello all. I post a lot at TacomaWorld--just checkin' things out over here...


Looks like a nice forum. I love off-roading (even though I've just got 2wd ) and hope to get some ideas for my build here.

I'm somewhat of an advanced noob to anything hardcore off-road and technical mechanical stuff, but I'm a Tire Tech at Discount Tire so maybe I can provide a little bit of good advice in that area....... . Then again, you guys seem to know your stuff! :o

I'm having a hard time posting pics.... maybe later. And no worries, if I start a build thread it'll be in the "Street Queens" Section

Best advice? Buy a beater 4wd and have fun in it. Will be way more rewarding than trying to get your 2wd offroad ready

Thanks! Yeah, I know what you mean. Seems a little pointless to build up a 2wd.... but it's what I've got right now. =/ I'd LOVE to put on a LT set-up but $$$ is the issue there... My dream truck is a beater '85 Hilux that I can just go crazy with! Hopefully someday!!!!

Well, one thought is that the tone in this hood is 4wd. There is always high speed desert thing that is REAL fun!!! I personally LOVE going fast in the desert! Funny thing I enjoy rock crawling a lot too!!! What ever you do, have fun!

Yup. While rock crawling type stuff can be pretty fun, I like to go fast! Plenty of arroyos and such down here. *sigh* If I had a million bucks............

Well, I've already got a locker (stock). And I'm actually getting some 33s in the next couple weeks. And believe me, I hit those arroyos every chance I get!!! So far, I haven't broken anything major or gotten too stuck (that I couldn't get myself out at least)! *cross fingers*
