I think I'm almost done fucking with the truck for this meet. Just need to get my CB tuned. Could really use an alignment but I'll just wait until Monday. And I'm almost to the point where I'm tired of fucking with these sliders. About ready to scrap them and just order a new set.

Why? Whats wrong with the sliders?

Nothing with the actual sliders. It's the brackets that are giving me hell. Nothing's lining up right on them. They're just not working. At all.

I cannot imagine them being unfixeable. They are steel....cut and weld

Get one that's already done. Right now, my 'dedicated rig' means something I am financially responsible for, work on all the time and don't get to wheel! :o

I'll take your "problem" off your hands for cheap:D
Good advise though..just want something that is running good for now- soo tempted to get a non-toyota rig as they are so cheap....short term gain, long term regret.

X2. Cut and weld into place.

What kind did you buy?

They're used 4x sliders. They were originally welded on so I got them with cut legs. I was going to just weld plate to them and then call it good but the legs were too short. So my new idea was to build brackets and weld 6" of 2"x.120" to them. Then I could bolt the brackets to the frame, slide the sliders legs into the tube on the brackets and weld around it to secure them. But for some reason it's just not working out like that. I'll figure it out, but I'm just sick of things not working. Need to get some more 2"x.120" first though.

So I take it you bought them used?

Sliding a piece over the existing tubing is a good idea.. I'd drill a few holes in the outer tubing and rosette weld them as well.

But you better get to buying some tubing, its not going to magically appear. :D

Yeah they're used. I did drill some holes in the outer tubing as well. Gonna add a couple more on the new ones. It's hard to buy tubing when my dad works at a steel mill but apparently they don't produce 2"x.120"... WTF?!?!

Just go run to a local supply house and pick up a stick.. don't need much. Tell dad he can bring home the stuff for bumpers and skids. :)

Cause most places don't carry actual tubing it's all sch. "x" pipe. Finding somewhere that actually sells tubing is a bit difficult.

I need a big sheet of either 3/16 or 1/4 plate to build me some skids.
