I'd put money on the fact that I've pulled/ replaced more CVs than anyone on this forum.Yeah I changed quite a few CVs on my old truck.

I think in my situation with the 4runner that a front lunch box & a spare CV in the tool box will be fine. It's on my list.
I'm gonna do ARB front ant rear. Now that I've had the whole experience, I'm addicted.
Pretty much instant off/ on. You just don't usually want to engage them while you're already slipping. You can turn them off whenever though. How quick is the action on the ARB? Ex: lets say you are going up a steep hill with locker on but need to turn it off to make a hard turn at the top. Does it disengage quick enough to make the turn or is there a delay that would cause it to track steer?

If I get a 4runner and a Pickup, I'm gonna spool the pickup in the rear and do an autolocker up front.too much $$$ for my blood, I'm going to have to do the poor mans lockers, well not the poor man because that would involve a welder...![]()
on mine? I was think i would go that route on the front for sure but go with the sparten on the rear. For the rear I would consider an Auburn, because it switches between LSD and locked instead of Open and locked, so it gives you some benefit on pavement.
I'm not sure they make one for an IFS 7.5" front. The only reason I wouldn't do it in the front is because it would suck on snow and ice. Shouldn't matter for most of y'all though.on mine? I was think i would go that route on the front for sure but go with the sparten on the rear.
oh'well I do know lockrite has one for the front but of course its not LSD, well see.I'm not sure they make one for an IFS 7.5" front. The only reason I wouldn't do it in the front is because it would suck on snow and ice. Shouldn't matter for most of y'all though.
that is some good info.
spartian or auburn for the rear and
front lockrite or arb, i want air on board in the end... but i want to keep the cost of this build under 8k period. see what kind of rig can be built for that kind of money.
I think it only goes south when they bind up, which will happen faster with a locker. So, are we saying that ARB is the way to go? But you are going to break, so be prepared for it. Can the CV's just not take the pressure of being locked?
I will be in the market for one probably next summer.
