JBL Subwoofer

I am contemplating removing the sub and putting two batteries in it's place - Basically getting the stock one out of the engine bay and having a third (or move the second from it's current position behind the jump seat). I have a sub under each seat on the Bimmer and was thinking I would like to do the same for the truck since no one ever sits in the back. Anyone know of a good small sub that would fit in that space?

Are you thinking about the little cubby holes underneath the back seats? If so, there isn't enough room for a decent subwoofer. Can you move the batteries to the otherside of the woofer?

If you head to a highend car audio shop they should be able to put a couple 6.5" subs in the small cubbies.. it will be tight. BUT.. I've heard high end systems using 6.5's in a small custom designed ported box and they sounded amazing. I'd want at least 2.. more if possible.

Not in the cubby. Under the front two seats. I may just see how much a bone yard would charge for the ones under my 7s front seats.

That's Mr Asshole to you
The truck that Zech and I helped install that Icon suspension on the other week has 4 6.5" woofers under the back seat in that compartment. He made the enclosure with fiberglass and ported it. Sounds really good. He builds home audio speakers and is a huge audiophile.

Ahh.. I have my x-overs under my passenger seat... pretty sure nothing much would fit under the drivers seat. Well nothing worth a crap anyhow. I bought a Kenwood powered sub for my 81 and its a royal POS.. bass is not really the noise that it makes. :(

This is what is under the front seats in the 7 and when it plays a bassy song, I feel like I am the king of the ghetto. It bumps!

Thinking something like this:

Alpine PWE-S8 Car Subwoofer - 8"

I was just wondering if any of you had any experience with something like that. I'm not looking to open a night club, just looking to replace the sub.

Yeah it might do it for you if all you are looking for is a little bumpin' under your seat.

I know! We are looking at new media room furniture and I'm getting those to install under whatever we get.

I have ~3000 watts of power in that room. I have 4 powered subs in there. These will just add a little bit more. Don't need much. Just a little kick in the pants. As it is if I crank it up it is too loud for most people.

Awesome... Absolutely beautiful. But I don't need it. I have a killer set of Def Tech's that sound amazing. Maybe not as good as those. But if I move these into the living room then maybe I'll contact him. I have the living room wired for 7.1 as well. Just haven't filled it with anything other than a Polk soundbar bar and sub.
