Build one! The parts are all available and it is easy to do. Decide on a budget and choose your stuff. I bet you could build a decent AR for $700.

Yep, XD's are solid guns. I personally don't love them quite as much as most people (mainly due to fit) but I can't say anything bad about them either. How does it shoot? Sub-compacts in 40 can be a little snappy sometimes. To be expected though. They're made to be carried a lot and shot a little.

I plan to as soon as I get the money. It will be one of those things I do just because I want to as I have no real reason for one. My birthday is at the end of the month. Maybe I can start ordering parts then.

That is exactly what I did. I have no need for it, bu thought it would be fun. I had my wife buy me the lower for my birthday and used some savings for the rest. Being a modular platform, you can buy piece by piece as you find the funds.

It actually shoots pretty good for being a sub. I have shot full size 9's that shoot worse, and has more kick that this does.

I like them too! But being that when I bought mine I was living - ooops - existing in CA, so concealment was not the issue but accuracy was - I got the 5" tactical. My next buy is a 1911.
Yeah that's the only way to roll. I put them on all 4 of the mags for the Glock 29

Here ya go Keith, DPMS .308. I've had it for a while but have been adding optics to it lately.
I like my .223 but the .308 really has good knock down power.
I use GG and G quick change mounts for all three optics
