Picked up a 1911 today. Been wanting one for several years and just never bought one. Ended up with the Ruger stainless, 5" barrel and rosewood grips. First new gun I have bought in 8 years so it felt weird filling out the form.

I need to come check it out. I've had my eye on those Rugers for a while.

Nice! What mods do you have planned?

Not sure just yet. Big scope and a can are planned, not sure on what brand or anything. Maybe a trigger and a new stock, read the stocks on these things are not the greatest.

Mcmillan! They make a nice looking stock..I like spending other ppl money haha..or if needing to go fancier - accuracy international

Then get a shmidt and bender scope..that's like 2k minimum haha..

But seriously, the nice thing about those Remington is the fact you can find soon much used products like triggers and stocks on forums ect. . Not really the case with savage rifles, but I'm with Andy, can't beat em!

You should come shoot with Eric and I soon Sean.

AI stocks are sexy as hell but the accessory prices kill me. I am saving my change for an B&C tactical that is fully adjustable. An aftermarket magazine kit with affordable mags ($250) and I will be in good shape. I still need to send my Leopold VXIII in for a mil dot reticle also.

Lucky I found a guy who takes stock magazines and welds onto them to make this..10rd mags that require no trigger guard kit..this is for savage.

Peltor brand.i had the Howard Leigh** and never liked them. They stopped working.

The HL BRAND impact didn't really cup the ear like these do - but the ambient noise was louder which is a good thing.the peltor seem ok, but haven't put them through the paces.

Just pickup a vortex scope, new stock and trigger.

I got a pile of Amazon Gift cards and thought I'd use them to try a cheap night vision solution:

Sightmark Ghost Hunter 2x24 Night Vision Monocular + Rifle Scope Adapter

I'll bet the 1x version would be easier to focus, but it was WAY more expensive, go figure. There isn't much info out on the interwebs on how well this setup works, but I'll let y'all know how it turns out. Will probably need an additional IR light source for results beyond 100yds

With a 1x, you could possibly place in front of an existing scope?? If on the ar10, could possibly be done with a hand guard rail.

That makes sense. If I had a place to night hunt I would so drop some cash in NV.. for my use, can't justify it..now

Carry related-since every situation is different..got a deal I couldn't pass up, easily fits in a pocket, carried it today! Taser c2
