Gotta find someone to thread this 30-30 barrel. I was planing on sending it to wild west guns but they have not got back to me yet and I have a feeling they are going to take a long time to do it. Wish there was someone local to do it.

Top gun is a PSA lower with my buddy's upper. I still Ned to get a few more parts to finish it out. (Forward assist and dust cover). The lower rifle is a PSA lower and upper in 300 Blackout. So far I really like the rail cover on the lower gun. It is amazing low light but strong it is.

Good looking rail on that lower one...I just added weight to mine

Just picked up this used aimpoint magnifier and larue flip to side qd mount tonight. Can't wait to go shoot it.

My friend who own one said i basically installed an aimbot behind my eotech. .. that's how easy it is to shoot.

Has anyone built an 80 percent lower AR? A buddy and I are thinking about buying a few with the jig and giving it a shot.

It is much easier with a drill press. The longest part is filing the mag well. It can be an interesting project.

Yeah this setup only requires a drill press and the jig. I have access to a drill press. I was looking at some online and it seems pretty straight forward.

If you want get one of the $35 polymer 80% lowers first. The are fully functional once done and are color code on what areas to remove and which ones not to.

Jigs are usually around 100. You also need a selection of drill bits.

So the kit comes with 5 lowers and a jig for 320 or so. Bits are an extra 95 (looking for cheaper). There are currently 5 guys in on this, sorry Drew but my buddy who brought this too me already had two others involved and I had already told my other friend he could have one. But if you want to buy another lower for $54 from them we can mill it out. Here's our concern though. The lowers are CAST.. not billet or forged. We just read this about 30 minutes ago. So now we are on the fence. Spend the lesser money and just go for it. Figure its a good learning experience and from what we read, cast isn't the end of the world. You just shouldn't drop your gun or beat on it. But hell nobody outside of a war environment does that anyhow... ever there I'm sure they try to keep that at a minimum. It still works like a regular weapon. If we went with a JT jig and bit it would be just about $225 just for tooling and jig... lowers are $150 or so. But they are billet.

My main points for doing this are two fold, a good learning experience, second, an unregistered weapon... not waiting on FFL dealio.

Edit: The place https://www.ar-parts.net/ar-parts/ar-15-80-jig-2-pack/ Reviews are mixed from their first run but seems the second run is good.
