The video doesn't do it justice. It was spectacular. The shockwave was incredible. My brother set off 4 lbs yesterday with a 10 lbs weight on top. He said that about 30 seconds later they heard this whistling noise and piece of the weight hit the ground! Good way to kill someone I suppose!

Pretty sure I would not have done it with a weight on top. I have set off tannerite with tires stacked on top and had mixed reviews. One tire never came down in a location that we could find, one blew to shreds and sent shrapnel out +100 yds, and the last tire went up about ~30 feet and flipped end over end till it landed again. Always a lot of fun though.

1911 .22 conversions anyone know anything about them? I now find myself with 2 1911s and would like to convert one to .22 for cheap plinking, I've read some wildly varying reviews from Google about the conversions

That is badass! Digin the shit out of that grip.
Wish I could say they are a good thing; but I have only heard/seen 50/50 results with most of the "quick and easy" kits. The best 1911 22s I have seen were designed as 22s.

Hmmm I was afraid of that, oh well guess I'll save the conversion money for more ammo
Palmetto State Armory had some .22 LR 1911s for ~$200 last week. I was going to pick one up until I saw how much my home owner's insurance went up. Damn tornado last year in this area made it expensive to live around here.

I've been day dreaming about buying an AR-10. Went to the Academy to put my hands on a couple and discovered Windham Weaponry; a new company making rifles at the old bushmaster plant
It weighs less than DPMS, comes with a Magpul Magazine and Hogue grip from the factory, and the price is right.
House closed... and so this bad boy is on its way to my FFL
