The only problem I see in the pic is the placement of the light. I would move it back about an inch so as to not foul it up so fast with muzzle blast; other than that it is pretty freaking sweet. I have a buddy with one like that and it is a blast to shoot. Really- it is freaking loud.

A point of curosity I've come across concerning AR pistols, at what point do they stop being considered pistols and start being considered SBR rifles?

Primarily the pistol does not have a "Stock". Also, no vertical front grip allowed on pistol.

So I guess what is considered a stock legally, or does that fall into a grey area? An examble being the six pistol brace or any number of tube type stocks

Yes, the sig brace is not a stock as at confirmed last year. So as long as your rocking a pistol buffer tube

To answer youroriginal question,More importantly, the pistol has to be built from a non-rifle lower..so either a new lower that was sold as other which is mostly how they are sold or a factory assembled pistol. Can't be a lower that was sold as a completed rifle(exp, taking a lower off of a16" m4 bushmaster you buy at academy)

Ah that answers my question more directly, I was curious if you could just build an SBR and call iy a pistol and avoid all the BS that goes along with building an SBR

Actually yes; but most of the people I have talked to recommend engraving the word "PISTOL" onto the dedicated pistol lower someplace.
