Build it up. Its not hard at all and saves you a bit of money lol. Satisfying to say that you did build it completely too.

I've only looked through a couple Millett scopes; but they do have a really strong reputation. So how far out do you plan on using this paper puncher?

No idea... able to hit a steel targets at 750 yards I suppose. Probably look for it to be driving tacks at 250 though. No real need for this gun.. It's just going to get me into another addition known as AR's. I'm already looking at another one.

I'm actually thinking about buying a Rem 700 Varmit in .308 and put the Millet scope on it and then put something a little more subdued on the AR. We'll see. My trail rig is being neglected.. I need to do a few things to it this month.

Just zeroed mine in today. FYI to Andy, that SB ammo doesnt shoot well at 100 lol. grouping like 6 inches, switched to hand loads and got it punching dime size groups at 100 lol

A Rem 700 would make a real nice home for that Millett. As for the proper AR scope; I never had a lick of problem with the iron sights in my past experiences, at least not that any of my targets complained. lol

even at like 250?

Granted, I wasn't punching out dime size groups with the small apateure; but I was able to keep them in a 3" shot spotter. Between the known distance courses and the unknown range courses I never had any problems. Hitting the steel is always a good sound.

Also, just in case you don't know; I did qualify as a Rifle and Pistol Expert in the Marine Corps.

Edited: Not trying to say I'm the-shooting-badass; just I have some trigger time behind a lot of different weapon systems and ranges. From the 3 yd line for the M9 pistol all the way out to 1,400 yds with the M14 DMR. It was a fun gun club.
