For the money? OMF would charg you that just to make them beadlock! Anyway, there are two guys I wheel with that have had good luck with them.

This month you could get them for $271! :D

plus they are just gonna get beat up so who cares what they look like, as long as they work. I'd love a set of OMF's or Hutchinsons (sp?) but they are too proud of them. I'd take a set of those TG or some Allied beadlock steelies.

Im leaning on the Allied steelies as my first or second choice.

My buddy has a set, only downside I've seen is that he's bent the lip a few times. Upside is that a BFH fixes it.

So I have been working a little at a time over the past week to get some of the little stuff knocked out.

Got my Grant steering whell installed finally.

Started working on wiring up my horns that I scored from Keith/Rob

Have them wired on a 30 Amp Relay to:

30-Ground
87-to the horn input
86-signal from the the horn on steering wheel
85-power from the battery

Problem is Im not getting any sound from the horn. Is this wiring correct? Im wondering if everything in the Grant steering wheel is correctly hooked up since the instructions are clear as mud. I do get some slight clicking from the relay when I initially connect the power wire to the battery and it stops after a good connection is made. Wiring is not my forte' BTW.

Any input is needed and aprreciated. Rob and Sean I know y'all have Grants. Is there something I may have missed?

My grant had two connectors in the center... I believe I connected to the center connection.

Got some FORD horns for the 4runner, mine was missing all together. Problem was that the wiring to the horn button on the steering wheel of the Toyota are hot all the time & switch on the ground, but the FORD horn ground to the chassis thru the mounting stud. The solution was a 20 amp relay. Full time hot (from original horn wiring) on 87 & 86 on the relay, ground from original horn wiring to 85 & 30 to the horn positive. Easy deal & works great.

From my thread. Hope this helps.

Got the Horns a working today. My goofy ass didnt have the ground hooked up on the steering wheel. Ended up using the ground wire from the OEM horn to ground the relay. Thanks for the Help Rob. i totally missed that the FORD horn grounds at the mounting screw.
I used a 12mm bolt and captured nut to mount the relay failry close to the OEM horn location.
I ended up mounting both of them on the passenger side fenderwell. I need to trim the screw that I mounted the horns down with. Minor stuff.....

BTW these things are LOUD!

I'll get some pics tomorrow have to work a night shift and get tommorow off!!

Tell me about it, Im glad I decided to pull a few sets off of these old vans before we scraped them (still have a few more out back) I wired some in and kept my factory horns too so they are nice and loud.

Good call on keeping some back for future use.

Its just nice having a horn now so I can honk at dumbasses on the road here in Houston.

Keith did you have some extra Fire Extinguishers on hand?

BTW if you have the ground and hot wire switched on the horn button, the horns will scare the shit out of you when power is added :)

Here is the Janky power wire that goes from the battery to the main fuse box. I replaced it with some 4 ga power wire I had laying around.

I also started on Installing my RogerBrown light wiring harness but didnt get it finished up.

Frond and rear diff breathers are done. Front routed to the firewall and the rear mounted by the gas cap under the fuel door.
