Man I miss living near a Kroger Grocery Store,
I was never a coupon person, but I miss the hefty discounts I used to do.

Pen Fed Rewards card, 5% on any gas pump, 3% on Groceries, 1% retail.

Ok, so I would use my Pen Fed CC to buy Home Depot gift cards, 3% rewards points at Kroger.
Kroger has the fuel rewards and you get double points on buying gift cards.

Head off to Home Depot and purchase what I needed and then used my Military ID for additional 10% off, 13% off discounts!

Plus you get the fuel discount most of the time it was .10 off per gallon, but sometimes they had the $1.00 off per gallon.

If you have a PRO account you should get 2% off everything & once a month they do 10% off everything. Not sure if you could stack other discounts on top of them.

The Tax reform passed early this morning 51-49, the last one before this was passed in 1986, interested to see what was in this reform, lots of last minute changes/requests from big interest/lobby groups...

I am curious to read it when they provide it to the public.

Within the next 2 weeks, we should get the final version, until then ignore about half the crap that the press has pieced milled some of excerpts out of it

Why does TAX REFORM matter to the lost sheep? if your not in the market, all these American Companies will have an automatic almost 20% in profits next year, stocks have been singing and dividends will pay.

Example;
Boston Beer Company Inc (NYSE:SAM) produces and sells alcohol beverages primarily in the United States. Its flagship beer is Samuel Adams Boston Lager. The company sells approximately 60 beers under the Sam Adams brands, 20 hard cider beverages under the Angry Orchard brand and 13 flavored malt beverages under the Twisted Tea brand.

Over the past five years, Boston Beer has paid an effective tax rate of 37.1%. If President Trump's tax reform ultimately fails and the alcohol producer continues to pay a high effective tax rate going forward, the stock would have a fair value of $182.70 based on its future cash flows.

However, when using a lower 20% tax rate, Boston Beer's fair value jumps to $232.85 per share as illustrated below. This is nearly 30% higher than its Friday trading price of $182.10 per share.

If you take SSI @ 62 you are a dope, if you wait until age 70 you literally get twice the amount (don’t quote me on that, I’m a more than a few beers deep)

It all depends on how much you earn and really depends on how well you saved.

There are calculators for this, plus you need to look at Family genetics and avg age of death of your blood line realatives. I ran one a few years back on my earnings based off IRS.

If I waited until age 70, it would take 3.5 years for me to collect what I missed from 62 to 1 day shy of age 70. So essentially I would start to collect that double SSI at age 73.5 and my life expectancy is calculated to be when the good Lord feels like I need to go.

Guess I’m a dope, cause I don’t even figure SSI into my retirement goal, expect future law changes, age minimum changes to increase and possibly SSI bankruptcy problems if your young, don’t make a retirement decision based off future government Supplemental Security Income.

If I get SSI 20yrs from now and I’m not counting on it, now that’s DOPE.

Can you quit work already?
Where is that book on Budism again...

That is close to what my Dad said. He is in the zone now but is going to work 2-3 years more to really max his SSI amount. Also you can collect SSI while still working as long as your job does not pay over a certain amount; from what I was told by a customer who is working part time and collecting SSI to pay off bills before full retirement.

I work with a PhD scientist who is at a young age of 77 this year, she makes well over $130K and collects full SSI.

Starting with the month you reach full retirement age (~67).

If he is 62 in year 2017, so his retirement age is 66 and 2 months, the age when retired people can receive full benefits is increasing gradually to age 67. No limit.

You can get Social Security retirement benefits and work at the same time. However, if you are younger than full retirement age and make more than the yearly earnings limit, we will reduce your benefit. Starting with the month you reach full retirement age, we will not reduce your benefits no matter how much you earn.

  • We use the following earnings limits to reduce your benefits: If you are under full retirement age for the entire year, we deduct $1 from your benefit payments for every $2 you earn above the annual limit.
For 2017 that limit is $16,920.

  • In the year you reach full retirement age, we deduct $1 in benefits for every $3 you earn above a different limit, but we only count earnings before the month you reach your full retirement age.
If you will reach full retirement age in 2017, the limit on your earnings for the months before full retirement age is $44,880.

Starting with the month you reach full retirement age, you can get your benefits with no limit on your earnings.

Use our Retirement Age Calculator to find your full retirement age based on your date of birth.

Use our Retirement Earnings Test Calculator to find out how much your benefits will be reduced.

Unless you die. I am 56. I have lost 7 of my close friends this year. CRAZY

Exactly, I picked a nice card at lunch for you your family to express my condolences.

You relize your getting old when your invited to more funerals than weddings. Old fart

And don't forget to apply for the Over 65 exemption on your property taxes...you only have up to ONE YEAR after the date you turn 65 to claim the exemption
Age 65 or Older or Disabled Exemptions Frequently Asked Questions

Around the Age 65 is a milestone, there is a lot of changes/decisions a person has to make, you have to do this, you can’t do that, etc.

You should still apply for Medicare benefits within three months of your 65th birthday.
If you wait longer, your Medicare medical insurance (Part B) and prescription drug coverage (Part D) may cost you more money.

None of this information may affect us for a long time, but many of us have parents to look after or atleast check on them.

Damn this has been a long week. Is it really only Tuesday!?!?

You read my mind.

I am not sure about the legal test and the money that will be wasted on attorneys but in one way, I completely understand the intent. You know I knock on doors talking with people about Real Estate (on a side note, it is wearing me down and I am getting a bit worn by doing it - I vacillate on a daily basis to find a new living) and you would be shocked to find out how many 2 car garages are used as Studio Apartments. The real hassle is that most homes and neighborhoods just don't have parking for all the people. There are neighborhoods where you can't find parking within a block of where you live if you come home past 8 pm. Talk about a fuck fest.

My vacillation about my career is a bit crazy. I have excellent mgt, marketing mgt, sales mgt and negotiation skills but just have a bit of a fear that no one will hire a 57 year old. Plus my PTSD of my last business is paralyzing on some days. I had a dream a few nights ago that I broke the neck of my past biz partner - the legal battle is not going well at all to say the least. The last 3 nights I have not slept more than a few hours and those were in a pool of sweat. I wish I could play guitar because I would love to join Drew in spreading good words to those that enjoy it.

I hope all of you are having much better days.

Sucks @TacoXpo .

I'm dealing with some messed up BS with work so I'm doing something about it. Promising start so far but no official offer has been presented.

I wish you the best and I hope to use your success as further motivation.

Good luck to you as well.

I should have called it quits before I bought that company. My guilt and shame is overwhelming right now. It's a good thing I am not a drinker or suicidal.

I hear ya, every time I walk into the shop and look at my 67' C10, $10k lost in paint and body work from 2 business partners having a fallout, my truck was strip of paint and left outside for 6 months in Houstons dry climate... I know that amount is small compared to what your going through, I have had the truck sitting in a garage/shop for about 10yrs now, it's hard for me to get rid of it, and it's harder for me to invest another $10k or at least trust someone.

I'm really thinking you need to buy some gold pans and sluice box and help with the mud slides over there!!!
