Greg, put me and the wife on the list. We have a tent and I can bring my little charcoal grill again if we're not red-flagged.

I'll put you down, Blair. You are of course welcome back.

Here is your next challenge:
You've got about 5 months until the trip. Try to get that thing locked. I know you, like me, are on a fixed budget, so ARB plus installation is probably not a very realistic option. However, try to round up $300 for a Lockright, or better yet, $400 for a Powertrax. They work excellent and you can do the installation yourself. If you can't install it yourself, drive up here on a Saturday or Sunday and I'll help you. The traction difference will blow your mind.

You can't always find deals like this, but I bought a Lock Right on ebay for $60 last month

I've got to say Drew, you do a great job at finding steals!!!

Some times. Someone else had posted it in the CL finds section, and even though I didn't need it, I knew someone did. I ended up trading it to Keith for a nice rifle scope.

Nice!

I am going to start cruising to looks for add-ons. My goal before this meet is upgraded suspension, and front differential aid.

Just my opinion - The idea of anything other than a selectable up front scares me!!! Just me.

Can you even buy a non-selectable for toyota ifs? I didn't think anyone but arb even made a front.

They make several lunchbox lockers for the front as well as true trac limited slip.

And that's a good thing!!! :D

We've been over this before. I can't help you drive a 2nd gen, and are at such a huge disadvantage!

I found a place here local that offers a free compressor with the purchase of the locker, from time to time. Just need to catch them at the right time.

You guys lost me here.

As for me... I know people that have learned that non-selectable lockers can get them where they don't want to go!!! When both front wheels turn at the same speed and you have traction on both wheels - you don't turn!!!

That is all!

One guy in a hilux that decided to pass another guy and he had no problem passing but couldn't get back on the trail and was sent down a ravine - He never drove it again until he replaced the front diff.

I understand, quite well, the pros and cons of the various types of traction systems. However, the comments I highlighted and said that I don't get seemed to have nothing to do with lockers.
