My people, I have found them.

Hi all!

Some of you may remember me. I was the little orange '85 blocking the trail at Hidden Falls, trying to get a good shot before the sun went down. Thanks for humoring me!

You all had fantastic rigs, and I hope to roll with you one of these days in my real truck, the '87. (Side note, I hate mud. All that crap is from the most recent Dirt Riot, and I'm still picking it out of my teeth).

Cya around!
Angie

Welcome aboard and I am going to apologize in advance. I am not sure what for - but I am sure it will happen.

Welcome to the group of "anti-2wd dicks", as you so graciously labeled us in the past.

....you saved that? Damn. How many other online squabbles you have in there? Are they alphabetized or color-coded?

Also, just re-read the thread on TW. That stuffs way too tame to hold onto. The way you guys act, you'd think I killed your dog or somehing.

I remember the individuals that label people with names like "Taco Bitch" and "anti-2wd dicks". Enjoy your time on TOR, however long it lasts...

I'm anti 2WD but I have no fucking idea what all that was about. I briefly looked at the link to Tardworld but it made my brain hurt and I could feel myself actually getting dumber. :)

At Oury's a few months ago some guy had a silver 2nd gen with fiberglass fenders and pretty blue wheels.. oh yeah, non long travel.. he claimed he could do everything at HF (including the 5's) in his truck and I about fell on the floor laughing. He really was a complete retard. But I didn't tell him so... I just said I'd like to see how it performs on the trails and he should come out next time. Figure I'd let his "rig" speak for itself.

Now that that is out of the way. Hi.

I used to sound like that years ago, back when I was tickled pink wih my 2wd Tacoma. But like any healthly learning curve, I moved past that. I'll still help and encourage 2wd to try, to pay it forward for all the times a couple great people did the same for me. We all have to START somewhere. It's if we stay at that starting point, we have a problem.

7 years ago we had a TW meet at HF and Baby Back was still open. Thankfully only a handful of folks showed up as me and the other 4wd spent the morning pulling everyone up it. Then, IIRC I grenaded my diff shortly afterwards. LOL. No good deed goes unpunished.

Damn. No, I never put people though stuff like that. I stayed to the fenceline and only needed a winch up north peak (pole?). But that's why I was so happy, is I could still putt along on the easier stuff. Now, I'll be the first to try to talk people into a built early-gen if they really want to explore further. But for someone just starting out? Shit, I'll be your trail guide around the park once or twice, because you'll either quit and go all the way after a run or two in a 2wd.

But Baby Back? I'd tell them to shove it. We'd stick to the easy stuff they didn't need to be dragged over constantly.
