Dang Tex, This just reminded me, i forgot I ws supposed to be making you that mount. I'm really sorry. Are you going to the beech meet? If you can rig up something for temperary I can send the mount down with Keith.
As far as an antenna goes a 3ft fire stick should be good just be sure you get one that is adjustable, no cut to tune.

Rob, you make antenna mounts? I'm trying to figure out where to mount my antenna, I wanted to do a "rear hatch" mount but I have tail light guards. Anyone wanna throw some ideas out?

Dump the taillight guards.. if they are those little wire thingies they don't do much anyhow.

Just bring allen wrenches so we can mount it up, make sure you get the firefly its the flexable one thats easy to tune, and I'll bring my tuner

Yes I am going to the beach meet. I picked up a mirror clamp mount from Frys for $5 and it does not look like I will have to mod it too much. I plannd on getting a 3 foot fire stick and I just need to order it from Walcot.
If you can get it together to pass off to Keith that would be great. I may not need it but we will see.

Just kidding man. I considered the firestick mounted on the bed somewhere, just never had time to go through with it. The roof mount magnet works great for me. I just leave it in the backseat, and put it up when I need to.

I thought about the roof mount but wanted something a little more permanet. I will see how this performs once I get it set up and if it is not to my liking I will look into a roof mount magnet.
Where does everone enter the cab for the coax? Is there a rubber gromet on the back wall or do I need to drill a hole? I plan to mount the radio in the center console.

there is a grommet on both the driver and passenger side near the front doors. it comes in almost underneath the seat on the interior. there is a pretty handy dandy writeup written by a swell guy

I am running duels with quick disconnects and 4' firesticks. I get great reception, but I had to ditch the spring mounts so I can still fit in parking garages in the city + some of our trails are very very low.
