I am new to forums. I have a 2000 4runner SR5 and am starting to do some modifications. Looking for advise on a suspension lift, 4 or 6 inch, that will better the off-road but remain practical to drive.

Welcome aboard!

If you've never been on an internet forum, it can take a little time to figure out how things happen around here. Make sure you take the time to figure out how the community operates before starting new threads or getting insulted because someone talks trash about your momma :)

That's Mr Asshole to you
Welcome from Texas. OME is one of the more popular brands but they don't make any lifts above 3" for the 4runner. If you go to 6" it would require a drop bracket lift such as pro comp and it actually lowers your ground clearance. This is not very popular with most here unless you have some pesky curbs that need conquering.
The BS thread gets the most traffic so post up most questions that only need a few post to answer.

Sonoran makes the best kit for your Rig but it's pricey. I have the Sonoran 1.2 and love it. Another option is to source some of the parts yourself, the rear is the FZJ80 coils, and the front is basically the coils from a 2nd gen tundra (2nd gen I think..). This is another good resource for the 3rd gen runner http://www.larsdennert.com/ Welcome to the site.

I'd agree with sam on the Sonoran steel but I personally have never ran it. Just Sam wheel his and it flexes really good Offroad. I'm still in the market for rear lift, but I'm leaning to making my own custom links.

Custom Links! I want more, and can't.. Gas tank is in the way.. I need to work on the front more anyways, the back is actually great.. I just started hitting the factory links on rocks..

You cant just build some beefy links stock length?

Post up pics Sam, I bet we could make the OEM links and mounts beefy.

I am sure I could just add a plate or something to the side.. I don't actually weld is the problem. It will cost less beer when it cools down a bit to get help.. :D
