Guess its customary to drop a line or two here.

Hi people, I'm Ethan and I'm an offroad addict.
Insert "hi Ethan" here.

Really, I hit trails when I can, and mostly wrench on my stuff. Although I do have a good trusted mechanic in south Austin for things beyond my knowledge or abilities/tools. Mainly run around http://hiddenfallsadventurepark.com/. I have hit up BVORR, which is knida the reason I'm on this forum now, in the past. I'm a long time member of http://ttora.com/ Texas chapter.

My rig is a '92 4Runner. Its well built with lots of crap on it and goes through just about anything I want to point it at. No build thread so I'll try and remeber whats on it: something like 5" of lift and 2" stretch wb and the 7" wider front end sitting on 32 x 10.50's or there abouts, Total Chaos LT, Fox coils, FJ rear springs, Bilstein 5125 rear shocks, All-Poo rear links and bumpers, off brand cheapo ebay winch (it pulls), 5.29's, True Trac in the rear (won't do that again), Bud Built Skids and crossmember, 4xInnovations doors during the summer. That's the majority, I keep a pretty good set of tools and such packed fairly well in the back. Bottom line, "ain't no rookie", quote from our cook on the boat.

As for me, I work offshore with ROV's so I wheel a lot during the weeks that I'm home if I can. I live in south Austin near the soon to come F1 track, yay tires and fast s**t.

So that's me, sorry no Taco, wrapped mine around a bridge back in '98. Which I was told it was the 4th TRD to hit the ground in the U.S. back then.

Good to meet y'all.

Yes, Texan and proud. The keg was a leftover from my roomate's party earlier that month so it was a freebie. It's been over a year since my last drink, brought it along the Wheelers for Wishes 2010 event in Pasadena with the guys from TTORA. Still no drinking and the pit is the SHIT.

Never ran bigger tires. The thing came with 4.88's in it from the factory. I had bought a set of 4.56's to put in based on the knowledge that my old Runner had 4.10's in it and when I got it apart, it was 4.88's. '92 3.slow/auto, the power train has been the bain of my existence with this thing. I wound up having to order a completely new third for the rear. Speaking of which, I have a brand new set of 4.56 Precision Gear ring and pinions and a Detroit True Trac also new, plus all the factory gear that came out at my house if anyone needs it. Nothing was damaged when I pulled the factory gears out, just needed the swap. Have to verify part numbers for fit though. I'll through a post up in the classifieds when I get home with the part #'s and pics. With the 5.29's, it runs good on the highway. I've made several trips from Austin to Port Fourchon La. getting around 12 mpg and the speedo is only off by 2 mph slow at 60. The thing rides better than factory on the street and I can pull a 20' utility trailer with it with a small car on occasionally. I'm ready to pop the engine AGAIN, this time there will be a swap and a manual put in, not sure what yet, I'd like to put as V-8 in it.

ah.. didn't realize it was a 3spd..? I have 4:30's and seem to be able to run fine. I want to go up to 4.88 actually, hmm.. I wonder if your factory 4.88s are compatible.. if so, you may have just found a happy home for them. :D
