Only update is my new battery shall not die like the last did nor shall any other in my lifetime. Finally got a battery tender. Not the best or worst but for the money I do like it and appreciate the tin can case so I can keep it all together.

Plugged her in to the Tacoma yesterday at 1pm. Took till 9pm to get to 80% and when I left for work today at 5am it was still charging. Came home and it was done. Not breaking any speed records but don't need to. Figured this will be good to have for when I have two modes of transportation and one gets ignored for weeks at a time.

I have a 10 amp Noco for the Taco when it sits. Keeps both batteries topped off and the fridge running.

Figured out what I'm doing for my buddy who motivated me and helped me out with the engine swap. Giving him a custom fall/spring 40* cammo under quilt for his hammock later today when I show up to camp. Last time we camped he was cold and rigging up old sleeping bags so I figured whats better than something he needs but would never buy himself. Should make for a good surprise.

Putting another buddy's shower in this Sunday for free and as soon as it is done and he has some free time he will be coming over to help diagnose my issues turning over the engine. he was a tech by trade for many years now owns his own motorcycle shop. Fingers crossed all goes well. Running out of time for this new frame. Worst case I have the truck towed to Yota via my AAA to get the frame inspected.

Buddy I know who has a motorcycle shop and was a tech for Ferrari/Bentley/Hummer/Etc is stopping by tomorrow to help me trouble shoot fuel pressure and electronics.

Another buddy is also stopping by with his scanner to help. Fingers crossed the days ends with a running truck :worship2:

Lord knows I don't have much more time for frame inspection.

We reused the harness, oil pan, & some parts of the intake. Rest is new. Whatcha thinking?

I'm thinking its gonna be a cam position sensor or something along those lines.

old gas in the injectors might have gummed them up. I just know the ethanol gas after sitting for a while Is terrible for engines. If you are getting a crank but no start it’s likely a cam or crank position sensor. There is also a cheap kit you can rent at vato zone to tap into the fuel rail to check pressure.

That same issue took down my buddy Chris's Taco after Toyota had it for 6 months for a frame swap. All his were gummed up.

We didn't make it far. My buddy's universal fuel pressure kit from Snap On did not have Toyota specific specialized fittings and he was running out of time/late on setting up his wife's dirt bike up for her race on Sunday so we made a list of tools we needed then called it a day and are regrouping tonight. He was pissed he didn't bring half his tools and wanted to go grab them and come back but if his wife's bike broke down in the middle of the race I know she'd point the finger at me so I kicked him out. Maybe by the end of tonight.

Fusable link blown? Does it have power coming into the fuse box? Mice make a home on the underside of it?

Did you remember to install a battery :p

for real tho the fuse box connection is a small ring lug separate from the starter power. Make sure that’s connected. And if the fusible link is blown you have to pull apart the box to replace as its screwed down from underneath.

Something big is down. No idea how since step #1 was removing the battery. Before I removed it, it had died from sitting for so long so who knows what that did. My buddy said some of the relays can stop relaying after sitting for so long. We were at it past dark and I go to bed early so we never looked at any of the wiring diagrams but that's the next step.

yearly update lol

I put my finger through my rocker panel this morning so thats cool... gotta love the rust belt. At least siting has kept her out of the salt....

Called my buddy who a service tech for a earth moving company and we talked about it. He owes me a favor + I told him I would pay him cash for his time.

I was avoiding calling him because while I know he will get it running....I know his tactics from wheeling with him.

This guy's trade has a little less finesse.... but I should of called him first. The other two guys I reached out to can't be bothered I guess...and I get it. Ive been out of the scene since I parked it. From seeing them all almost every weekend to falling off the map for years

in hindsight should of also let Sandy take it back in 2012. The engine started sounding funny that Thursday and that Sunday I was driving to high ground saving it from flooding

I didn't do that the second night.... nothing like sitting in a truck as hurricane winds are shaking it as you watch the tide come up around you and all land disappear lol

still undecided on what to do with parts or the truck once it is running. Few people had dibs on some stuff going back years... I didn't forget, yet would not hold anyone to anything years later.

Got brand new TC LCA's, TC UCA's, King 2.0 remote ext trvl w/adj valves, two Spods, bulk stock of oil filters, bulk stock of air filters, ol parts engine, etc....
