Most do with the proper tools... Your bedside will buff out with some new sheetmetal.

Yea I suppose these are the proper tools

This year I decided it was time to treat my paint job to something nice. After washing it once a year, and letting the rain and dust do the work for the rest of the time, I decided it was time. The paint still actually shines after 6 years though. I used Mequirs, and I know I didnt spell it right. I used the clay bar, and the wax from them.

Good luck with your truck Sean

sean i used something like you had in your first post when i worked at the harley shop but it was air powered those foam pads work great! harley sends a tank with the paint kit thats been keyed.... BAD and you have to take the mark out with wet sand and buffing im pretty sure i was the best in the shop at doing it i like the 3m compound the purple stuff it was good all around

Thought I would bring this thread back to life since spring is pretty much here.
I usually keep my truck really clean and wash it a few times a month. Hand wax 1 or 2 times a year so I have never had to bring my paint back to life. However my brother and a friend of mine don't take good care of their paint and after a few years looked pretty bad. A local body shop charged about $70 to buff it and it looked amazing. This was not a detail but just to buff the paint. Took out the swirl marks and Texas pin striping.

Sorry for giving this thread life but I am awake at 7 on a Saturday morning for no reason.

Do you have a buffer? I have been meaning to buy one but never felt like spending the $$ on something I would only use once a year at best. I vote we go in halves on a decent one.

I picked up a digital one from HF and then got pro buffing pads etc at a pro distributor. Some of the best money I've ever spent!
