Well, the Stauns are supposed to be at 48 PSI. So I had them at 30-35 and the "tire" at 0. No sidewall flex at all! So I lowered the Stauns to 20... same deal. Ended up at 12.. which is not right. Could cause damage to the Stauns. Anyhow, I need to set both to 0, then air one up to 20 and see how long it takes. Then back to 0 and try it again with the other stem. Figure the faster one to 20 is the Stauns since its a smaller air chamber.

But without the sidewalls flexing traction sucked. Shit I should have walked up ended up spinning the tires. Once I aired them all down it was pretty much point and go.

I'm about with ya on that one. The tires would be great on a heavier rig. I'll mess with them a little more and then figure out what to do. Maybe I can buy my old IROK's and beadlocks back. :)

Great minds... I think those Stauns would be good for something like Silver' but all the pictures I have seen of your ride BS and AS (before Sean and after Sean) look like your at 60 psi.

I still don't like the new name

Scrobama?

Well, it's got a good beat and I'd like to dance to it the first Tuesday of November 2012 but I think The Raisin or Prune Boy or some, some is close to right on for this rig! :D

LOL.. I hear ya. If work wasn't getting in my way I might get something done, but I doubt I'll be able to do anything until June or even July. :) Next on the list is some better lighting up front and out the back. Oh yeah, and fix my Stauns.

Are you going to 'fix' your Stauns by getting weld on beadlocks?

I don't know how much you will wheel your Taco now... hold on. What size wheels are on the Raisin?

I thought about moving the Stauns to the Taco.. but they won't fit.

I don't think so. I think the tires are aired up even now.. and I can't deflate them because the Stauns moved and covered the valve stem. I have one of the SX's aired down and its flattens out pretty nicely. Now to just get the others aired down. I'm debating actually puncturing the tread and then patching them to get the air out so I can break the bead and relocate the Stauns. Just not a fan of that idea.

How about pulling the stems from the stauns, then overinflating the tires a bit to force the stauns to empty out?

Sounds good in my brain in theory.... no idea if it would work though...

I think what "might" work is removing the valve stems from the non-stauns and then driving it, allowing the stauns to move and then the air from the tire can empty out. I can deflate the Stauns no problem, its the tire thats sealed off.

That's why I think you should try to INFLATE the tire more with the staun cores removed. Without back pressure, the staun should fully deflate & they'll be able to move around inside enough to deflate the tire....

They are in there very tight. All inflating the tire will do is put more pressure against the valve stem as soon as you try to deflate it.
