I ran out of steel... well not really.. but I ran out of the big stuff. Time to hit up the steel yard again tomorrow.. one stick of 2x2x.120 sq and one stick of 1.75x.120 DOM.

Managed to start on the upper shelf railing and the support for the shock mount tube (I do have that piece). The upper shelf will have stretch steel across a framework of 1" box.. hinged in the middle so I can remove the fuel cell and get to it to fill it up. Fuel cell will also sit so that the filler neck is on driver side. Finally the tool box and a container to hold fluids will also be below the upper decking but still above the frame. Both sides of the upper deck will be hinged to allow access below. Quick tie down access points will be installed along the top rails as well as my Hi Lift. There will also be an 'X' brace of DOM across the back and a few other pieces to tie it all together... TBD.

Shock tube will be installed into the sq tube here.. bore a hole and slide it in.

UPS delivered my Alpine 6x9's as well. But stereo install is pretty much a next week project.

I can't wait until this shit is done so I can move it and clean out my garage!

I hate when I do this... Decided to upgrade the shock mount supports... Going from .120 wall to .250 wall...BEEFY!!

I also decided to drop that top bar down about 1.5". Still clears the fuel cell and it's fittings. Luckily I only have to cut out the top weld and a side weld on that rear support.

The bed should be done on Friday. Over the weekend I'll plumb and wire up the fuel cell and pump. Then cut the fenders, trim the hydro assist tabs on the tie rod, build a VERY small light bar for up front, install the 2 sets of VisionX lights I bought, wire up the stereo and if there is any time left... paint it.

That's a long list, but now is the time to get it done

Do I sense some longer shocks in your future?

I have them ratchet strapped into the length I want... should be good to go. I have some RuffStuff shock tabs on order to mount to the cross bar.

Just picked up some more steel.. ended up splitting the cost with a friend since he didn't need a whole stick and neither did I. So I got a 11' section of 1.75 round and 2" sq.. like before. Hope to do some building tonight.

Davez Off-Road. Said they would deliver it in 10 days. It only took about 6 weeks. Oh yeah, that included a round trip to somewhere unknown and then to me! His delivery sucks!

Here's something you never want to here in a public men's room... "nice shaft"'. lol. But since my rig will never see pavement I'm running sq tube front and rear. I will be building a spare square tube DS in the future and mount it on the bed.

Nice! Great idea - I may do the same once I get out of my macramé stage and back to building a wheeler!!! lol

Did you build those 6x9 enclosures? And good idea for the square driveshaft and mounting it. I'd hate to have to ratchet stap up another one in the middle of the night. :)
