I wish I would have started with a 2WD and added a nice Atlas 4 speed-case with a linked diamond LC axle. :)

Done a few things over the past few weeks. Nothing major, just tinkering mainly.

Under rail LED lighting in the bed, controlled by a waterproof rocker switch. 8 pods with 6 LED's in each.. very bright.

Rearward facing LED utility lights by Rigid Industries, Dually flood lights on home made mounts. One on each side.

New headlight housings with Sylvania Ultrastar bulbs. Old ones where fogging up and the protective film on the outside was starting to peal. Also replaced the bulbs in my PIAA 510 SMR's with some 100 watt versions.

Swapped out my Nuvi 500 for a Nuvi 1490 (it has Bluetooth to make calls with.. I feel so 21st century now). I even added a little old school Yota and a newer 4door Hilux as display icons. :) I also loaded up the 1490 with 1:24000 topo maps of Texas but they are not that great. They are the free ones from GPSFileDepot.com.

RAM mount for Garmin Nuvi 1490

I also built up a RAM mount for a Magellan Triton handheld GPS (loaded with 1:24000 topos) but I don't care for the way it mounts so that is being redone.

Trasharoo to collect my empties on the trail :)

Rebuilt rear locker actuator motor. It was seized and melted on the limiting switch and contacts. Cleaned up the whole motor assembly.

Had to add some epoxy and then smooth it back down.

CB goodies to upgrade and replace the old stuff. I'm replacing the Midland handheld unit with a Cobra 75 WXST, all new Firestik Firering cable, SS mount, HD SS spring, and a 4' Firefly. Also on the list to go in is a Cobra noise cancelling speaker.

This isn't done, so far I've pulled the old cable and installed the new antenna.. partially installing the new cable. I'm having an internal debate on the location of the new CB.

I've got the same Cobra. Brought the cable up between the rear drink holders in the center console...

The cord on the Cobra unit is pretty long and thicker than the one on my Midland. The Midland fits great in the center console but I was afraid the Cobra would take up too much room. I was thinking about mounting the QD plug at the bottom of the center console on the passenger side... or maybe in the rear of the center console near the floor. Rich does yours then have the QD on top of the drink holders in the back of the center console?

Yes. The mount & shitty grommet are mounted between the cupholders. I had to grind the mount to the shape...

Nice sean!

Your gonna want to keep one of your old headlight bulbs in your glove box. Rob and I both ran those sylvania silverstars and we've both replaced them multiple times. I got to the point where when mine burned out I replaced them with anything that wasn't slyvania. On my last bulb that burned out here recently, the filament wasn't even broken, bubbled, or burned out. The bulb looked just fine, but it didn't work. They seem to last just about a year(just past the 1year warranty) and then burn out when your on a road trip home.

Damn that sucks! Spare bulbs will be a part of my glovebox spare parts then.

The HID's I had where the worst... they wouldn't adjust properly and then they would alternate between hi and low beam randomly. Sometimes a setting lower than low beams! I think they lasted about 6 months before they started acting up. My lazy ass still has the ballasts mounted behind the grill. :)

dang i bet those back up lights are bright

Well I'm not planning to have them act as backup lights. Just utility lights. I have some 100 watt halogen fogs under the bed for extra backup lights. I also did Robs trick with the 55 watt backup bulbs in the factory housings. I guess I'm going blind in my old age. I just want more light.
