Depends - let me know first!!! I can hardly hear out of my one ear (high notes shot) 'cause some douche bag, I once considered a friend put a M-80 next to my head while I was napping in a friends back yard. Sure I was plastered but it was VERY un-cool!!! That fucker. Now where is that can of beans and the gas can?

I sold a buddy a .357 one time... then we went fishing/camping. He woke my passed out ass up to show me the gun worked by firing it very close to my head.

I was too drunk and tired... it was about 4AM. Lucky for me he was still up (drunk ass night owl) and had finished heating up some awesome chili. Fucking drunken fishing trips... good times.

We where in Idaho, camped alongside a 30' drop into the <fuck.. brain dump.... river in Idaho :) > anyhow, campsite looked like the surface of the moon. NOTHING around.. just rocks.. big flat rocks. Anyhow, we had to pull trout up about 25' (had a little area to hop down to) to land them. I had popped a big ass rabbit about 12 hours earlier that we skinned and cooked up to throw in the chili. So once I woke up (after a 2 hour nap) we ate chili and trout. But damn it was a good trip.

Sorry, funny story, same guy now lives outside St Louis on a lake.. nice piece of property.. about 5 acres. Anyhow I took my son to visit him (my son was 13 at the time and hadn't seen my buddy in 11 years) Anyhow, my buddy "had" a nice tree alongside his house.. near the water but a beaver got it. He told my son, who was fishing, if you see a beaver let me know. Anyhow, 30 minutes later my son yells out "Hey I see a beaver".. my buddy grabs his 12 gauge and runs to the shore and blows it out of the water. My son is stunned to say the least. To me it was par for the course.

I have a buddy like that. And his dad was a chief of police for a large city out here. He is always saying, "My dad gave me a new gun and some ammo." His dad must have a friggin warehouse. Last time it was over 600 rounds. And alot of it was high brass 12 ga. stuff. We spent half the day playing out scenarios at these abandoned horseshoe shaped range. I will never forget what his sholder looked like the next day... Damn pussy!!!

I would share with you what the scenarios were but I don't want a knock on my door this evening!!!

...my shoulder was bruised too! :)

Correct.. it can be done and IMO would be a good thing. BUT, like Drew said, drilling through the inner race was very difficult. My collection of Milwaukee/Ridgid/DeWalt/etc bits were all non-carbide steel so they would not go all the way through. But if you pickup a set of carbide bits you shouldn't have any problems...

...Also note that when you do this, you will be working with a complete unit. Not just the main body like I'm showing. So be careful when drilling to collect all shavings...

Thanks for the information. I'm buying a spare setup and will get new bearings ordered and take the works to my friends machine shop as I don't have an EDM but he has a wire graphite machine that should pull it off. Honestly never thought I'd ever have a reason to put it to work for me until now.

Did anyone mention the initiation process to this board? :)

If you bring it up here you gotta dissemble and de-grease it yourself. ;-) And I forgot to edit the post. It's not a wire graphite, it's a graphite machine. Was texting him when I was typing it and forgot to edit before posting. Apologies for any confusion caused.

So are you having issues with you 2011 rig already?

None whatsoever, I'm just using the winter to get allot of stuff figured out as this will pretty much be my fun truck since my track day car was sold due to waning interest on my part and with the addition of the boy to the family last year I'm somewhat anxious to get it ready, put him in it, and show the country to him before it becomes illegal to do so. Don't know how hardcore I will end up taking the modifications but smart decisions just stand out for what they are. I liked the ability to grease the bearing cavity while still on the truck and thought that I'd like to try it on a set sourced from a salvage yard first to see what I think about it from first hand experience.

As far as the truck itself is concerned I like it a great deal and even though I spent nearly nine months pouring over details and learning what I could before I ordered it I'm still finding out more that impresses me on a fairly regular basis. I appreciate the people who host and populate these type of websites as I find that there is a great deal that I don't know about and I'm always appreciative of those who go out of their way to share their knowledge with the rest of us. I can't imagine how much frustration I've saved myself by heeding the advice offered by fellow Tacoma owners on the internet.

That sounds like a great plan! I'm sure you'll get many miles and years of enjoyment out of it. I do mine. I look forward to see what you do with it and where it takes you.
