Sanford and Son was my Sesame Street
"You" can't fix stupied. What a mess.

Ive seen more than a few easements issues and been involved with one that ended up dragging out for 20+ years until my mom sold that property. They are no fun.

Not sure if you got to see it but one of the links I posted from this past year was a construction project (multi story university building) that was built in the wrong spot. They didn't find out until after the foundation was set lol
We got a project after the original survey company went out of business. Worst mistake ever. The original surveyor set building corners, the contractor constructed the slab with a 1/2-foot offset inside and then wondered why the steel he ordered didn’t fit. We ended up staking the bolt holes for each steel column. Took over a year for something that should have taken 6 months.

No laws being broken per say. You are still allowed to take breaks - now you just need to work longer if you take them (no paid breaks).

First 2+ years I have been here the guys combined their (2) 15 minute coffee breaks they got paid for, took no 30 minute lunch, and left after 8 (worked for 7-1/2hrs). Same for the office.

Now he wants to make changes anticipating additional profits. While normally I would agree because an additional 30 minutes per day equates to 6 weeks per year, but this becomes a motivational issue because you are taking from them what was once a given for 6+ years the company has been operating.

Demotivating people tends to hurt company profits a whole lot more.

Guys had a company for 6 years - still completely clueless. He's the kind of person that knows it all and can never make themselves better or learn anything new because they are already #1 and dismiss anything you tell them.

Good news is I most likely will be visiting San Antonio, TX in May for a trade show Glass TEXpo™ '20

I was hoping to turn this trade show into a job fair, but the boss wants to come with me. Doing my best now to talk him out of it...... already told him I have a place to stay and would be making a weekend of it. He wants to fly out Friday am - I said Thursday PM....anything he says he wants to do I'm trying to avoid lol

I feel so bad for these tenants......Window Blown Out From Millennium Tower, No Injuries Reported

Many invested their life savings into their "homes" and now they are screwed. Never put all your eggs into one basket. Wanna buy realestate or invest in new construction - better do your homework on the GC/CM/Architect/subcontractors BEFORE you put any money down. Building just to code minimums with un-vetted contractors and architects only insures one thing - you are investing in a roll of the dice

@Anathollo

Just ordered 4 floors worth of Wilson while my guys are installing 2 floors now. No matter how bad I complained about Raco sucking 2 years ago.... I do respect whoever developed their dies and system. Wilson only allows me 5/16" total bite top & bottom or side to side. Code calls for 1/2" minimum bite per top or bottom for a total of 1" overall so I'm only breaking code by 11/16"

No idea who developed Wilson's system but it will NOT meet any sort of IBC 2018 and doubtful it would meet IBC 2015.

Never again....

If I had intermediate verts I would be good, but I do not and most of my runs look like this so the middle lite meets no codes and the outer lites exceed code due to 3 side support:

Also I can get Raco now. A buddy of mine who owns his own company (competitor) said he would buy it for me. Ill just throw him $500 and add 15% for corporate tax to the sales total then have it drop shipped directly here lol Sadly my big job was already submitted and approved when I found this out.

Sounds like the whole situation sucks but the guy does appear to know he screwed up. It sucks he had the proper gear in his truck but it was not given to the guys working.

When I read it I instantly remembered all the jobs my boss told me to equip poorly. If anyone would of gotten hurt I would of been in this guys shoes if I had not known that anything my boss says is unreliable and must be checked on.

He would of had me breaking about 500k in OSHA fines just on one job.

Every LTL delivery Ive needed in the past two weeks has been late by a week. No idea whats going on in the trucking industry but this is the worse Ive seen it. Shipments from LA, Chicago, and Ohio all delayed and all by different companies all with different excuses. They are all prob too busy delivering body bags for the gubment *tinfoilhat* lol

I have no clue, but for multiple carriers from multiple cities to be all late at the same time and no major weather issues to blame it on...... maybe something is up?

or there is just a grey could over my head that will not allow me to run my jobs smoothly lol

All depends. Who is the OE mfg? & for what model car? The mfg's name should be stamped on the glass somewhere in the bottom corner.

Some cars FYG could be a downgrade - some it could be an upgrade + they have all different "trim levels" being one of the largest window mfg's in the world.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that whatever brand non-OE Tacoma windshield I got from AAA blows. It functions fine, but corners were cut literally and it looks like crap. Instead of radius bends it has flat segmented bends. Hard to explain and most would never notice but to a glass buy I was not happy with my "cost savings" shopping on that product.

5k my cost for the mirrors, 7 weeks lead time to get them, 3 men install on a Saturday.....gotta go back Tuesday and pull the tape then install the trim to cover the 2x4.....what a waste of 10k lol

shelves don't even match the cabinet finish, but thats not my trade

I don't design 90% of this stuff. Just estimate the project and PM it if I win the bid. I didn't even bid this one - just ran it.

Bar for these guys HQ so it should explain the lack of style...prob some old exec or some young douchecanoe trying to bring back the early 80's Fame House | (R)evolutionary Digital

To a guy like me the beauty is the fabrication and fit....+ profit % when done the job .........although I would smile more if it was a product that actually looked good when we were done lol
