Well, I just got off a long conversation with my boss. Can't believe it but they are actually going to release me, end of January timeframe. Almost shit myself when he told me that, so I guess either HR caved or my boss put up a good fight for me lol

Awesome!

Do they have classes and such offering practice exams? When I had to study for the system operator/power dispatcher exam, I registered on a site for like $100 for a month access to previous exams and explanations, it was very helpful.

You have to take the class before you can attempt the exam. After 3 failed exam attempts, you have you wait 12 months and take the course again.

For a guy who never takes selfies and turns away from pictures I have the worst luck. Freaking NGA just used a pic of me for this years NE tradeshow invites.

Already got two phone calls this morning asking me if I'm working for my old company again lol

Boy was I fat back then

I should attend and use it as a job fair

Not a bad idea!
Hopefully it would never come to that, but in all honesty I always referred to them as such. Basically big job fairs for people switching sides.

In case any of you follow energy or utility stocks, Exelon and constellation split about a week or so ago. Their new CEG stock hit the market around $54 a share. Any prior exelon shareholders got a 3:1 acquisition from the split. I plan on dumping my constellation stock tomorrow which is the first day available for employees to sell following the spinoff. The generating plants they have in Texas lost the company around $750M last year from that deep freeze and caused all kinds of off-cost generation dispatch.

I don't follow them too closely. I do have some SO that has done fairly well. I bought it a few years back thinking that people will pay their electric bill before they will the phone bill so it would be a good one to have in a recession. I haven't really wanted to buy any others.

I did read an article last week about NRG being at a discount and suggested that they were prime for an increase. I considered it, but didn't buy any.

Edit: thought this was the lost sheep thread.
