Every so often this whole "traveling" thing works out. Dinner at Clearwater, Florida tonight.

Dressing for work question.

Anyone bought or tried the XSuit brand? The idea and videos look great but for $500 I could get a pretty decent suit at the other places. But traveling with suits is a real pain in the dick.

Been in them a decent bit lately. I have bought 6 or 7 blazers & sports coats in the last 6 months. Had to elevate the work clothes to better match my place at the table now.

Anytime i needed to wear one I rent it and return when done. Cheaper than buying your own and I’d you spill BBQ sauce on there it’s a no never mind. Don’t think I’ve interviewed for a job or had a job that’s needed a suit in over 10 years though so my thoughts could be way off on the subject lol

I do not have a rental place close enough to me to go with that option; plus a nicely tailored suit looks a thousand times better. A decent suit really is not that expensive considering it should last at least 5 to 10 years. At this rate I will be in a "office uniform" at least 3 to 4 times a year. Each event will have 2 to 3 days of meetings where the dress code is office professional (but they have dropped the tie requirement to show they have loosened up lol ) .

go to MenSwearhouse and see what they have. The type of wool used in the suit matters. Unfortunately, I can't think of the type, but it shouldn't wrinkle. They run promotions in store often enough that you should be able to get two for the price of one.

The last suit I bought was like $400 and you could get a second one for $100. The people who work there generally know their stuff pretty well. I'd just walk in and tell them you want something fitted that travels well and won't break the bank. They should take you right to something, and IIRC will have it tailored for free.

^ Agree, and Sign up and wait for the 15% off discounts.

There are several brands that are wrinkle free and machine washable.

I wouldn't hesitate to hit up 2nd hand stores.

No, but like most items nowadays, everything seems too expensive.

I have done almost all of my suit shopping there so far. They do have a good collection but their in store stock is always limited. Plus most of their collections are targeting the slim and ultra slim lines lately. I do not go well into a slim setup.

I check between two in Fort Worth and one in Arlington. The stock depends on season and everything is geared towards prom and summer weddings right now. I also check local stores when I travel.

Looks cool. I'd try it.

I bought this back in ~2016 and used it to pack my suit and clothes into one bag to take to a wedding up north. It worked out great.

Wasn't able to get them up as much as I had hoped, but got some extra benefits and a sign-on bonus.

Fingerprints and drug screening tomorrow.

2 weeks will be submitted once I get the all clear.
