Not on here much, but I did go to Gilmer a month ago or so and had a decent time with good peoople.
Can't remember the trail name but I've never liked it, came close to busting both rear windows out before I finally gave in and
asked for a winch up the side hill. Well silly me .. I didn't remember to put in the rest of my bolts (nor did I remember to
even buy them) so the first tug, which was very gradual, the bumper caved at the pivoting point on the bottom.. I laughed a little.
Was a pretty easy fix with a hi lift jack and loosening the bolts / nuts and a hammer.
Also busted my radiator in there somewhere (no skids), drove to Longview and vatozone had one luckily, swapped it out and wheeled some more.
Found out where I am rubbing, plan to hammer it down on driver and the passenger side this coming Friday (at work posting this)
And since I didn't have skids I went ahead and ordered some, and since my doors are basically fucked I bought some tube doors.. dunno if I will run the stock
doors anymore. I will pull up the carpet and use some bedliner and buy a set of wet okoles for the seats.. might even take the dash apart and silicone it everywhere.
Not sure if I am overthinking this, just don't want mold anywhere. These arrived at my residence 10 days after I ordered them, pretty good service.
Not pictured: busted driver CV .. orderred 2 cheap ones from rock auto? Not expecting much, if I break them both I might try to find a solid axle somewhere.
I've been reading a lot, I think I can get a d44 under it with leafs, 37s and keep the frame under 25" .. buuut this is wishful thinking right now.
Going to Gilmer again in 2 weeks, will report back.
