Just cheap harbor freight benches, plan to make my own fab table when my CNC gets hereVery nice. Sounds like an awesome project. What bench tables are those?

I had it made and was just playing around, this is the original one I made.Or you could just use two pieces of flat plate with 4 holes in them and sandwich the body. While the above looks cool, you are sacrificing a bit of strength with the missing material in the centers. Plus with the flat plate you can land the tube where you need it and not worry that you are too close to a firewall or side panel to fit the bolts in.
You need more surface area on the plate to spread the load across the frame.I guess this is more of a fabrication question but I've been reading up on cages (and specifically a hybrid one that I want in this runner) and I've seen them tied to the frame in a few different ways.
There are some frame tie in kits with bushings, I think for better ride quality more than anything. You can also go from the tube, through the body of the vehicle and weld a plate for more surface contact and tie the tube in that way. I've also seen something pictured below, I drew this up in fusion 360 real quick .. basically it's a sammich plate for the body. You would weld the tube in this plate and have a plate similar to it under the body welded to the frame and you would bolt the plates together. I am thinking it just makes the body more stiff which it's a trail rig only so I don't mind. Are these assumptions I am making correct? I hate to ask on pirate
