I got the Pfizer version. Not sure what "batch" it is, but I got the first shot on the 30th of Dec.. in with the first round of folks I guess.

Just checked again this morning and my moms now says "Generic Version" so Ill need to dig deeper to see what that means.
I just heard smokers can jump up to the front of the line for the vaccine. I'm 100% opposed to that bullshit. Whoever came up with that is a complete moron IMHO. Going to try and push people to the front of the line who activity kill themselves daily?

The hospital my sammich maker works at is having a vaccine crisis for the employees. When they first sent out the forms only half the employees wanted to take it. Now one of the first people to take the 1st shot has come down with covid and is having a rough time of it since she tested positive two weeks after the first shot. The hospital list is now shrinking as people are declining the vaccine.
Science is one thing. Public perception is another. It looks like the vaccine is losing on the perception side. I am still not sure if I am willing to get it since the vaccine companies are still guessing at how long it will be effective. First it was months, then six months, and now Moderna CEO is saying "possible years". It really is not confidence inspiring.

I get mine the first week of February and I'm hoping for no side effects as well.
Yeah the CDC commented on that. They said that in small affected areas, people have no problems following guidelines, quarantining or getting shots but once something is politicized then people fight against all of the preventative measures.

Everything has been rushed so I get their skepticism.
Sucks about the timing of her getting it right after the 1st shot because it will be used by the uninformed to push their agenda of "anti-science".
I'm leaning towards signing up for it. By the time I would be allowed to get it will be many months from now so a ton more time for data to come out.

Why I take issue with politicizing any of this from either side.

The vaccine was rushed but scientists and researchers have been studying the Corona virus and it's sister virus' for decades at this point (sorry I can't English gud right now. My coffee is still kicking in). So there is a lot of data they had beforehand that helped contribute to how fast they were able to get a vaccine out. This is my 2nd grade understanding of it from talking to different doctors and researchers at my work.
They need to do a better job of publishing the history and similarities to other vaccines in order to educate the masses at a "magic marker" level of simple. The other thing hurting this right now is politics. But that is a whole other ball of problems. I swear people of one die hard fan base would drink poison if they thought it would kill the other side.

While most would slander colleges as being liberal (because thats the popular propaganda) my county college education was anything but. I had some real good mentors. Real reason I went there was because the same professors for my criminal justice major were also instructors in the county's police academy that was also housed there thus they were all either federal LEO's or local LEO's.

Current times also remind me of how terrorist orgs work.... smart guys create division amongst the ranks & populous by passing down propaganda/disinformation to them, sheep drink in the cool aid, cool aid becomes violent rhetoric, sheep become enraged, then start throwing themselves to the slaughter.... aka cannon fodder

Mine was the total opposite. Complete liberal agenda to the point where we were being told it's our duty to contribute and help people on welfare. My two nephews (one graduated from college and the other is on his second year) had the same experience I did.
I always say you'll come out of college as a democrat until you get your first real check and see how much the government takes from you.

I forget where you went.... but my general classes weren't even that bad. I think it helped I was going at night. The few day classes I attended were jokes so I stopped taking them. Instructors could care less, kids were trash. Night classes had worker bee instructors with older students learning to advance themselves not just because thats what kids do after high school.
I think most who attended community/trade/technical/police academies would find a similar result as I did. I only assume that because I'm in a blue state but all the LEO's Ive ever been friendly with or taught by were of similar mindset. My experiences could be a one off, but I'm doubtful.

I went to FSU and didn't feel that it was liberal or conservative. Seemed to have a good mix.
