This is what I use on mine and I love it. Zech uses the Blackhawk version. About half the price of the Ergo brand. I might try it out on my next build. Looks like it's more aggressive texturing so not sure I'll like it
Ok Im Interested in duplicating this build, est cost? I have been wanting a large caliber hunting rifle that I can use a 30cal can on, only thing I have now is 300bo but I need something with the 300+ yard range with power.
Not concerned/interested in the forearm guard or stock. Part numbers please
The grip is the cheapo Blackhawk Ergo grip.
What bolt and upper receiver? The barrel and adjustable gas block are JP Rifles. The barrel is $530 and gas block is $80. I bought earlier than I planned so as to take advantage of Black Friday 10% off. The 6.5 Grendel is pretty good for 400 yds and less on whitetail sized game. That is my intent with it.

What bolt and upper receiver?
Bolt came with the barrel; matched set. Upper receiver was one I bought from @Anathollo . I do not remember the name; nothing uber fancy though. The rest of the bolt carrier group is a Palmetto State Armory Nickel Boron BCG. I am probably going to order an aluminum BCG to drop some ounces there too.
If accuracy is not up to par I will go with a "better"upper receiver but honestly I would be amazed if this thing does not shoot beyond my needs. In the end I will have a dedicated magnesium lower receiver for it. At that time the lower will get the "lightweight" works so as to try to get the whole thing at 6 lbs or less.

Per their website. @Taco Loco
My buddy shot a 1" group at 200 yards then a 1.5" group at 300 yards with .223 77gr Black Hills with his JP barrel IIRC. I've been drinking so I may be off a bit but I was amazed at the time. He has a full JP rifle build.
What brand is the selector switch?Lower is assembled. Had to order a few more parts though. One was a new bolt catch release button. The one that is on it I don't care for. LOL Second the BCG's fucking firing pin catch cotter pin dealio.. It won't go back in the fucking hole. I can get it in the outside hole using some needlenose but no matter of fucking with it, twisting whatever, will get it in the otherside. I pulled it out and now its starting to spread out a smidge. So I ordered 3 new ones (spares) and one of these PERMA Pin Firing Pin Retaining Pin and one of these http://www.tacfireinc.com/firing-pin-retainer-5-56-9mm--p-809.html Figure if I like them I'll move one to another BCG.
But its all cleaned and assembled. Do have an issue with the selector switch, its not indexing? Its got the spring and detent pin pointed the correct position. But its not catching. I need to take the grip off and fuck with it. Just don't want to do it at the moment. Not sure what I did wrong as it appears correct, probably something simple.

I bet it put it in backwards!
Ok I thought it was a radian but wanted to make sure (I have one). So that was the advice I was gonna offer since it's a dual position safety. This one https://www.brownells.com/aspx/search/productdetail.aspx?sid=193376&pid=98962
I bet it put it in backwards!
Its the cotter pin.. I can see its bent out from the first or second time I tried to muscle fuck it into place with some love taps.
Ordered the final bits for my new AR. Picked up a BCG, a nicer charging handle and a Vortex red dot. Found a good deal on it at Brownells. Only thing left are some flip-up BUS... I think. Then of course to wait on Santa to deliver the upper.![]()
I always recommend spending just a little bit more and getting the Magpul Pro's. I've had both sets and definitely prefer the Pro's.Dont know if you bought some already or not.
